i agree..why on earth do we need to travel "back" in time with a wormhole...WE"VE JUST CREATED A WAY OF TRAVELLING BILLIONS OF LIGHT YEARS WITHIN SECOND....I DONT THINK THE PAST IS GOING TO BE MUCH HELP

Travelling into the past could be of immense benefit to historians, for example, or astrophysicists studying the ceation of the universe.
Travelling into the future may also be of great beenfit in helping to expand knowledge in a range of fields.
Time travel wouldn't neccesitate that the future is set in stone, it may be that we would travel to a future based on current events and that subsequent events in our own time frame would then change those future events.

Or... along that same line of thinking, we travel to the past, change things there that influence our 'present' in a rather large way... perhaps our parents never met as a result we no longer exist ourselves in that present??
Detect any smaller or larger holes in that supposition??

@Vlamm
There are potulates, which rule against the ability to change either the past or the future, but of course none has ever been proven.
The trouble is that we still have a tendency to look at time as being linear, as something seperate from the rest of the universe, when it is of course an integral part of it.
