No I don't believe what he said, he just watned me off the phone, he said the people in his office were sick of it too.

Mine is voda branded but that's only the startup screens and the web home page, every single thing is the same as my mates sim free phone other than that.

Funnily enough a factory reset has solved my alarm problem.

Sorry if you feel I should post elsewhere but I am an O2 customer and don't believe any issues are voda specific (since the latest FW).

Does anybody know why the 02 P990 has been released 3 months late with an older firmware?
Maybe they stock it only now only to save money?
Any bugs so far with 02 P990?

I just got mine too. It says charge it for 4hrs or until the battery is full shown by the green light. My battery was already over half full so hopefully it shouldnt take too long. Did have a look at the fw versions and its all up to date (not the week 48 release obviously).

In terms of the battery performance long term I'm lead to believe that lithium-polymer batteries dont need to be fully discharged and recharged - they can just be topped up and retain full performance. This is unlike nickle-cadmium batteries that really need it (not that I'm saying any phones use these lol). If anyone knows better though please correct me.

Guy, let me know if you get more than 2 days out of your battery.

mine lasts 2 days with no wifi and very light use. It drops fro 55% to powering off in around 6 hours.

Your right, as far as I'm aware, the lithium batteries are alot more forgiving than the old nickel-cadmium (which I think early original phones had...). But allegedly to get optimal performance from even lithium ones it was good to leave them on over night for the first charge (it may have changed now).
Also you won't get the best performance from the battery until after a couple of charges, one last thing, unlike nickel-cadmium which responded best to being fully charged then fully discharged the new ones don't respond so well to being run completely flat. Er that's about all I know, but then again someone might tell me I'm completely wrong....

IDIOTS !!!

You order the phone and they cant do it. You cancel the order and say 'do not send me this phone' and get your PAC and they deliver the phone. Whatever you say to them they do the bloody opposite!!

@anyone with a p990i from o2 direct

Was the seal on your box a silver circle one? seems strange for some reason. Also, my screen didnt have a screen protector on it (as on new phones), but I take it that because of its touchscreen abilities.

Same here.

Few early problems i have noticed - the alarm comes on, but it's silent!!! I also beamed over some songs from my old phone (which it saves in messages) and then it wouldn't let me delete half of them until i repeatedly pressed delete (easily 10 times). First impressions are it's a little slow but not had much chance to play around with it yet.

Any new phone should have a screen protector, with SE it comes with pictures of features.

Maybe O2 are selling second-hand phones?
