Sony Ericsson LT26i (Nozomi) makes a second appearance in NenaMark benchmark
The upcoming Sony Ericsson LT26i ‘Nozomi’ smartphone has once again be seen in the results of the NenaMark benchmark. The last time the phone appeared, it was badged as the Nozomi, but this time round it is simply labelled as the LT26i. The NenaMark1 result of 41.2 was similar to last time (38.2), although this time the phone tested was running Android 2.3.7 versus 2.3.5 from the previous test.
The phone was also benched on NenaMark2 where Nozomi achieved a score of 29.8. Other details remain the same including the 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 720 x 1280 display and Qualcomm Adreno 220 GPU. These details suggest that the phone is likely to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 MSM8260 chipset when released.

Hardware components right now for mobile is so much ahead of time, and software support is not yet available for those hardware, specially mobile phones/tablets using Quadcore CPU, it's not yet fully supported
look at Dualcore CPU's, introduced and used last first quarter, but just right now got the software support, using Ice Cream Sandwich, so they need to wait for Google to support those Hardware.
I believe Dualcore 1.2ghz Cortex A9 = Dualcore 1.5ghz Qualcomm, this is already enough to power those mobile IMHO
Just like Sony Ericsson said, they will be very
cautious in terms of New Technology.
I think it's a practical way to do, but look at Sony Ericsson on their software and applications support for their Xperia's, I think everyone knows what I'm saying

It should have been Sony Ericsson in your post and not Sony. The nozomi is a Sony Ericsson product and not a Sony one. Sony uses Tegra 2 dual core CPU even in their walkman I don't think will be dumb enough to use the slowest dual core CPU in their FLAGSHIP phone had they been in charge of the nozomi project.

I don`t agree, Sony never use that strategie of cannibalizing their own sales, even if there is slite chance of that.
this is not about cannibalizing, this is about surviving
people need to stop to think in these old paradigms, things change constantly
the playstation brand is strong - yes - but just look at nintendo, they are having hard time with their 3DS
kids love the ipad, its their number one christmas wish this year (at least in austria)
the mobile gaming market has changed and sony didn't react to these changes(nintendo did in the home sector, but not in the mobile market)
the vita actually should have been from start - a smartphone with hardcore gaming capabilities
ipod touch and iphone also co exist, but the more expensive brother sells big times more
don't understand me wrong, i am not say that sony should copy apple
but they should do it better then apple
sony has a tremendous expertise in gaming, putting all this know how in a gaming smartphone (incl all the famous developer studios) would blow apple (in the gaming segment)

We talk about different things - you talk about how Sony should react, and I sad how they make business till now it`s not like we could argue talking about past and future.
You sad it yourself Sony didn`t react to the changes, so it`s wishfull thinking and I`m just sceptical because of the past. I may be wrong and hopefully Sony is going to change their strategie, but for now there is no indications of that.
