If i only knew that. I'l l take it to the SP. I just tried to call today and... nothing. I hear tranceiver but nothing else. Speaker works on tests only when pressing '2' key. The worse thing is that i can't bring it back.

@kothor why didnt u test it before? Guess it would be cheaper to get a new one. Post here a detailed list what u need, maybe u can get the wrong aparts in pieces and then u build it together.

The one thing i've not tested was the calling feature. Dont think it would be cheaper to get another swedish one. Their price starts at 40$ and they're not so good as i want. I've bought it for 20$. Pics to come.
What's new about your prj?
I'll try to use std epoc components that come with R380CS through COM interfaces instead of my cr@ppy port communication system. It would be great to contact developers of that CommSuite.
@Tiger One more question for you: do you know what's PLP system?

i'm very very very very sadly selling my wakaba because of private reasons.
its 1 out of 2 working wakaba's that are known to be out there.
i must admit that turning the phone on doesn't always work, sometimes it always turns on, and then you've got days that i won't. (abit like wanting to go to work). i noticed it works best with a fully chagerd battery.
the phone doesn't come with a battery, you can use the T28 series battery.
you can bid via pm. i prefere real collectors and people who'll take care of it. and also work on the prodject with killspam and tiger to upload our own /// firmware.

@kothor according project, it going on in the background, but it takes time, i go step by step @bart as i see, a wakaba is a treasure, even its a dead one. Of course its hard just to own it and not able to use, but do fits any collection.

@Tiger is it hard to change the speaker?
Speaker-change on a T28 is quite simple. Open the frontcover - takeout display unit - replace speaker!
But if speaker works in the test-menu, I think a simple speaker-change wouldn't be enough. Might also be a problem of the audio-decoder and that's hard to fix (would be more expensive to solder out the unit and replace with a new one than buying a new T28)

@ kothor:
Perhaps what Tiger was saying is true, the earpiece of the T28 is similar & built to the T29, but do try the service tests or go & initiate a call to be sure.
If the problem still persists, it may be a problem with the audio IC (integrated circuit) which is a tough part ot find alone or has minimal chances of being repaired. But do try to have the unit fluxed to clean out dirty contacts within the board itself.
