New Xperia models from Sony Ericsson during CES 2012

In an email from Sony Ericsson has indicated that it intends to present several new Xperia handsets in conjunction CES-exhibition by next year which takes place in early January. Few have enough Nazomi images on and off the email below to judge shall be involved in each case more than a new model.

Please see attached (Ed note: the image above) for invitation to Sony Ericsson at The Wynn Encore Hotel where the latest Xperia models will be presented.

Unlike the launch of the xperia play, neo, pro, pro mini, and mini are betting the company on CES before Mobile World Congress this time. This may have several explanations and be as simple as a matter of timing that Sony Ericsson would be faster with United States-launches in parallel as they wish to improve relations with the country's telephone operators.

New Sony Ericsson Xperia leaks – is this LT22i Nypon?

We have seen so many leaks of the Sony Ericsson LT26i Nozomi, that it’s nice to finally see a leaked picture of a new Xperia. We were sent the following picture which shows a new Xperia model that looks remarkably similar to the Nozomi pics that leaked recently.

However, this ties in exactly with what we’ve been told by our own sources who say the LT22i Nypon will be very similar in appearance to LT26i Nozomi. The Nypon is believed to sport a 4-inch qHD (540 x 960) display rather than the 4.3-inch (720 x 1280) display of the Nozomi.

In fact the only way we were able to distinguish this leaked phone was by looking at the front facing camera, which is on the left side versus the right side on the Nozomi. Also, the Sony Ericsson logo is below the earpiece on this new phone, whilst it sits above the earpiece in Nozomi. Whilst we can’t say for sure, this very much looks like Nypon to us.

A friend works at ST-E and he told me that he has played with a phone that looks exactly like this but made of metall/aluminum instead.

maybe its the sides of the phone that is made of metall/aluminium like XPERIA RAY

He compared it to HTC legend in quality...

And now we have a picture of it

All and all it looks like a much better buy than nozomi imo. 4inch screen, u8500, metal casing. Its almost a perfect phone!

Update: We have been given a bit more information on this phone. The phone will have an aluminium curved back cover. Also, if you’re wondering about the ‘Xperia’ chin at the bottom of the phone, this is believed to be a removable cap which can be interchanged for different colours. As always, take these rumours with a pinch of salt.
