Camera samples look amazing compared to the Arc, lighting is perfect, limited compression.
My only fear is that they are not from the device and instead from a digicam, they look almost too good to be true.

That camera samples are very good. I can`t see agresive postprocessing and I hope Sony will keep it that way in the final version of the device.
Of course you can't after all we lose
11megapixels worth of resolution from the resized samples. If we try resizing C905 images to 2mp you'll hardly see the effects of overprocessing there. Its better for us not to expect much until we finally get some real res. samples also take my word Sony Cameras are known for aggressive NR even on their DLSR lines.
EDIT: Here is the site regarding the probable sensor model used by Nozomi,
http://www.sony.net/Products/[....]ws/vol65/imx081_091_111pq.html
and yes, no 12MP there, only 13mp and 16mp and 8mp is out of the question as far as the rumored specs are concerned.
This might be the sensor/s model to come with nozomi
IMX081PQ
■ Diagonal 6.52 mm (Type 1/2.8") 16.41M effective pixels
■ Frame rate: 15 frame/s
IMX091PQ
■ Diagonal 5.87 mm (Type 1/3.06") 13.25M effective pixels
■ Frame rate: 15 frame/s
Also worth noting was this new 8mp sensor model by sony which I believe was the one used on iPhone 4s (no wonder that phone outperformed Arc and the rest of 2011
8mp Xperias)
IMX111PQ
■ Diagonal 4.60 mm (Type 1/4.0) 8.17M effective pixels
■ Frame rate: 22.5 frame/s
All sensors provide full HD video recording at 30/60FPS, with this i'm pretty sure Nozomi can send iPhone 4S's camera performance packing

Two phones with not so different specs. Will SE take the risk of cannibalizing its own product?

They wont be realised in the same regions together, hence the 'at' and the 'i' at the end of them.

Aoba sounds pretty good. I read somewhere, probably xperiablog, that it might be running on a different processor than the nozomi, probably one of the newer 28nm chips. Time will tell. Lets hope we see this at CES
Another thing. There was a metal bodied smaller sized device which looked like the nozomi. Any idea which device?
