@ jcwhite
I guess youre right that there were actually no "w" models released to my recollection that is.
Now the question is does the "e" on the GF766e, T20e, R380e stand for "euro since these were mainly available for the european market only & "e" models are but a rarity in the asian market.
More to this for the R520LX, I wonder what "LX" meant then?

The majority of "e" phones that I have seen were Orange branded phones. The same was used on Nokia and Motorola, i.e Nokia 7110e was Orange branded 7110.

There was never a T28w or R380w. They were T28 World and R380 World. If I remeber right they were 800Mhz and 1900Mhz

@JC, Boba meant 'w' just the world versions. They are capable for 900 and 1900MHz, so that they can be used in the Europe/Asia and the US basically.

I'm quite sure that the -e- doesn't mean euro.

's' denotes phones with 900//1800 tranceivers and maybe means "single band". 'E' means enhanced version (also maybe with improved design). 'M' denotes tri-band handsets and maybe means "modified". Maybe 'd' means D-AMPS? Donnow. SE used 'i' instead of 'e' to designate improved versions of handsets. Don't even know what 'LX' can mean.
