Got mine Tuesday. Batterys Fine, lasts maybe 2 days with quite a lot of use! (lots of games at college, shhhh!

) Everything Set up fine on o2. Even got WLAN working perfect!
Got a new 3G sim with the phone too, which i just activated, takes a couple of hours. Magic!
Its a bit sluggish sometimes, hoping thatl be fixed in future FW updates. But nothing i cant live with! Just make sure you install Swiss Manager first! Before you do anything. Helps a hell of alot!
Great phone! Worth the wait! *slaps o2*
I'm enjoying mine too, used the wifi at home no trouble

, it has reset itself a couple of times but mine is as it came out the box and the SPV C500 it replaces still has to have the battery taken out because it freezes occasionally even with the latest s/w. I can't find where to download swiss manager, where did you get it from? I found the thread, do you have to buy it now or is it still a free download? Thx, J

Does anyone knows how to install Java Runtime Environment to P990i? Is it possible to install one anyway?
Thank you very much.

It already has J2ME on it...mobile edition. There are lots of games n apps that work on it no problems, you get a little Java pop up when you run them. But then theres a few apps that wont run at all, and some that will only run in flip close. (I can tell you, the general keys for movement are W,A,S,D,Z and you have to use touchscreen for some stuff. Bit hard 2 play fast games like that with small buttons, but nevermind!

)
Check out
http://www.beta.johnex.se downloads section, loaaaads of games and apps in there. Thanks to johnex for that! Nice one dude, made my life so much easier
Oh and ive got the BST- 33, to max out my batt, i turn off 3g, wlan, bluetooth when i dont need it. but i can easily get a day out of it with upto 2 hours playing games on the bus

I'm sorry, but this phone is a nightmare. I've had it 24 hours, and I've had to reset it by removing the battery at least 6 times. And I've hardly done anything with it yet. The browser has crashed five times, and it crashes EVERY time I go into the SE homepage. It's so slow, I often press a button and think nothing is happening, and then it will usually eventually respond. But sometimes, I press a button, and nothing happens despite me pressing a button a few times, and I eventually have to restart the phone. I look longingly at my old P910, and I seriously might go back to using it. At least it only crashed once a month, instead of once an hour. As yet, apart from 3G and Wifi, I don't see any benefit for having the P990 over the P910.

Hmm, strange how your getting so many problems with it, i recommend sending it back and asking for a replacement. I have no problems going onto the SE website, and its only crashed once in 4 days and i use it alot!

Why don't you try to upgrade your firmware on the SE website.
Has anybody on this forum tried to do a firmware upgrade on his o2 P990?

Yes, I've tried the update service, and my mobile is from O2. It told me my version was up-to-date.
Good news, not a single lock-up today. If I stay out of the SE site, and avoid doing certain other actions, such as opening/closing the flip while a program is running, then it seems more stable. Oh joy, 24 hours of carefree mobile use. And it's not even Christmas yet.

I haven't found the mini-Excel I had in the P910. And I think the jotter is missing. Also, I downloaded some ringtones from Handango, and sent them to the phone. When I go to the ringtone setup screen, I can link to the ringtone I want, and even play it before selecting it. But when I do select it, a message comes up to say it isn't allowed. I've paid for the tones, and they are MP3 files, like most of the other ringtones. I can't see a reason why these tones wouldn't be allowed on the P990.
