I've been using AirTel for the past 3 years. The last year there has been no disputes regarding bill and in general the service has been good. But now I feel they dont give out any special offers or loyalty offers for customers. And they have also not reduced prices for VAS like in my TN circle GPRS rates in Airtel is Rs.600 /p.m for 1 GB whereas BSNL Cellone gives it for Rs. 200/- p.m unlimited and most importantly it works.

Well there's a large amount of variation in the tarrifs of various services Airtel offers. And their service in certain circles are degrading from good to worse! Well, if you have any suggestions or grievances on the service in your circle you first report it to your Customer Care centre & still if there's no sign of action, you can mail them from the address provided in the link below.
You can also contact the Nodal Officer of your region. And still there's much more people up there, to contact.....

For AirTel TamilNadu prepaid users GPRS rates are Rs.20/- per day..thats what irks me ..bcos of these non-uniform tariffs..not only is it unfair ..it is utterly ridiculous costing almost 4 times more for the same service

Airtel has very peculiar ways of finding revenue... I don't know whether anyone else had a similar (or even worse) experience.
I'm using FRIENDS Prepaid in Kerala circle.
* One night I received two messages from 678, thanking me for activating their HelloTunes service & for downloading a song for the same. A total of Rs.45 was deducted from my account. All this happened when I was fast asleep.
I had to call those customer care idiots day and night for a full two weeks to get that amount refunded. Those guys found fun even by blocking my number from contacting them. What a nice fellas...
* Last time I used Airtel's Mobile Office, I got billed for a total of Rs.100 at three different occasions claiming I downloaded something from their Airtel Live site. Well I got that money refunded too. But my balance was dropped beyond zero, twice and my GPRS connection was disconnected for five days.
Airtel have many other innovative ways of providing service to their loyal customers. If I'm to pen down all, I could have published a book on that. I think BSNL provides a better service than Airtel. Although BSNL doesn't have Customer Care execs to attend your calls 24hrs a day, I think that's better than talking to a group of lump-heads at Airtel. I wish some Airtel employee were reading these!
