Dan Brown is nothing more than a blasphemer. He's a big liar. That's the main reason why the Church wants to ban this movie. Simply because it's a blasphemy. Dan Brown in one of the pages of his book claims that his book is FACTUAL. When you say that, it means you are conditioning the mind of the people that the veracity of his claims are 100 percent real, even if it is not.
It's no surprise why this is happening. Jesus' character has been attacked for more than thousands of years already. Why? Because that's one of the schemes of the Devil. To create doubt and confusion.

Basically 'The Davinci Code' film and the book are stories, yep thats right just stories, just like the bible. I believe that although 'The Davinci Code' is in general just a story, there is a message behind it and Da Vinci's paintings. Many say that the evidence used in the film and book are fake and made-up, this is quite wrong since although some things will be made up since it is a story, a lot of things in fact the majority of evidence used whether you believe or agree with it is very much true. Throughout history the Catholic Church has gone out of their way to cover things up, pay money or even kill on a lot of occasions just so that the Christian beliefs don't crumble. There is no doubt that for hundereds if not thousands of years and still today that the Catholic Church IS corrupt, yes i agree that they're are good minded, peaceful and brilliant people in any religion, don't get me wrong. Specifically the Vatican itself, they are secretive, rich and throughout history have mudered and killed to hide things that have been found nowadays or the facts that the Templars found 'something' which most probably was the final resting place or tomb of Mary Magdelin, which might interupt the power and control that they have. It is also a fact that secret cults and groups were set up including the Vatican to either hide or protect her tomb from the others, one of which Da Vinci, Newton and many other great minds were part of, since they knew the reality and would go to greta lengths within their lives to stop the power and control that the corruption of the Catholic Church has. Since throughout history and in the Bible Jesus is seen as pure and beyind human, and super-natural being, but the possible reality of him being human and doing human things getting out to the public terrifies the Catholic Church since the power, control and riches that its has would crumble. Unlike what many other more 'modern' Christians that are now accepting and coming to believe that Jesus was a prophet and yes was a great and was all good, a symbol for humanity, he was only human and did have a wife and a daughter called Sara. The Catholic Church tried to cover her existence as someone special to Jesus by naming her the prostitute. The Catholic Church has hidden other things that talk of her like Judus' Gospel and Mary Magdelin's own Gospel.

what a bunch of anti-catholic crap!!! looks like the only church that did bad things were the Catholic??? and did nothing good???
and you seem to believe all the Dan Brown "facts"??? ROTFL All the crap that have been clearly proven to be false ROTFL
I liked the movie and the book has fiction, but what worries me is the profound anti-cristian and anti-catholic message, that can influence the week of mind...

sorry, i'm not trying to be anti-catholic or anti-christian, i'm just saying that there ARE facts within the movie/book/STORY... and that it is a FACT that 'not only the catholic church' but mainly the catholic church, specifically the vatican has done what ever they could right throughout history to cover things up. i don't mean to offend any catholics or other christians here or elsewhere, i just think its hard to look at the vatican today and right throughout history and not see that it is not all about religion...

But man, almost all the things Brown mentions has facts are proven to be...lies...that´s my point. True the Vatican did some nasty facts in the past, but not all that is given has a fact in the book/movie. And there are also good things
The Da-vinci Code has almost has many "facts" has the Lord of the Rings...
My position on this is that the movie and book should be faced has what they are: fiction, nothing more

right now the movie is hitting the any office.... Its climbing up the records.....I dont go with the critics they told that who ever has read the book has on suspense in the movie but i will say you an other part those who read the book will also have an excitment to watch the picturisation of the story.......

I've just this right now seen a 15 second ad on TV for the Da Vinci Code movie. The audio says 'What if the greatest story ever told is a lie' and 'Seek the Truth'. It's pretty obvious that this movie being marketed to appeal to the large liberal, urban-dwelling, anti-christian population who make up 40% of the voting public here in NZ.

Samoa bans Da Vinci Code

Samoa has banned The Da Vinci Code after church leaders who saw the movie complained to the Pacific Island nation's censors.
But the film's distributor, Sony Pictures, last night predicted Samoans would soon be able to watch it on pirated DVDs.
Leaders of the Catholic and Congregational churches in Samoa watched the film on Friday at a special screening at the country's sole movie theatre, Magik Cinemas.
Catholic Archbishop Alapati Mataeliga said the movie would affect those of weak faith, causing confusion among Samoan Christians.
"If only the movie was based on the true Gospel, then I think it would not be so bad," the Samoa Observer reported him as saying.
Many Christians worldwide have called for a ban on the movie, which depicts Jesus marrying Mary Magdalene and establishing a bloodline the church then covered up.
Sony Pictures New Zealand managing director Andrew Cornwell said last night that Samoa was the only country he was aware of that had banned the film. Magik Cinemas had appealed against the decision.
He said Sony had supported Samoa's sole cinema, by supplying new film prints, rather than ones already used in New Zealand, and by providing them close to the date of their release in the United States.
"One of the reasons we support them is that they have a piracy problem," Mr Cornwell said. "You might be able to ban it from showing at the cinema. I think it's going to be out on pirate DVD there in a couple of weeks. I don't think anything is going to be done to prevent that.
"That's the bit that really sticks in our craw; we know it's going to be widely distributed in Samoa, but only by criminals."
The Rev Peniamina Vai, of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa in Otara, Auckland (NZ), said he welcomed the ban in Samoa, because it was a religious country.
He agreed the movie could rock those whose faith was weak and did not want his parishioners to see it.
Mr Vai said he had read the Dan Brown book on which the movie was based, but had not decided whether to watch the film.
(NZ) Catholic Communications director Lyndsay Freer said the church had not called for the film to be banned, although a couple of Vatican officials, expressing personal opinions, had urged a boycott by Catholics.

About the movie in India also the release date has been postponed due to some problems with the censor board......
We guys are still waiting to see the movie......
