Just my two cents on this issue.....


For these type of things to happen there needs to be a REAL GOOD reason for developers to spend the time and effort etc.
As their is already an adequate media player already that most people are happy with then wishing for a better one will probably come in the form of a new (fee payable) third party applicatiion which will problayy be better than either of them. (probally liked up with iTunes etc.)

You've been wishing for it for about 2 months with no luck, so take a look in the mirror. By the time someone does come up with it, the phone will be obsolete anyway. Hint, hint: the shelf life of mobiles is about 6 months. The clock is running out and so is your hope of someone doing it.

Dude, I am not trying to have an argument with you but SE has made it very hard for anyone to crack the phone and get the media player. Either you have a small grasp of business or you have no grasp what it takes to pull this off.

Wow, you must have really been pissed off. Two posts within 20 mins. Well, just for your edification I will make my last post to this Disney thread and I will provide yo with a bit of info that I know you do not know about.

The so-called porting of the media player is possible and has been done by SE coders. They have prototype P and M series phones with it but guess what. It is not hard but it is protected. SE now has to probably compete with the Apple media phone when it comes out. Therefore branding is more important than ever. This is not me saying it, it is SE saying it. By contaminating their other product range with the media player, the brand value is reduced. That makes their phones no longer special. Second to protect this, SE has coded each player with a code unique to each phone, so once again, if you can remove the player and install it, chances are that it will not work because it does not belong to the phone. Once again, not me, but SE. Finally, to protect this what do you think SE will do. They will hire big fat lawyers with nothing else in life to do but to sue people for copyright infringement, i.e. your genius crackers.

In this thread I did not curse you or try to purposely offend you. Just point out and debate the likelihood of your fantasy. You know, forum = debate, difference of opinion. Then again, maybe not. Can't say the same for you though, so I am sure you will not be offended when I tell you to go and piss off.

well i realy want wifi so i can go on the net at home and at airports without having to take out my laptop. and the lack of camera on the w950i does remove the attraction to it. do you have either and if so what have you found them to be like? thanks

I am lucky enough to have both mate, and to be honest they are both very good, even after 3 months i still couldn't pick just 1.

I think the w950i runs a lot smoother than the p990 yet it has less work to do so that is understandable, and the p990 is so much bulkier.

my advice mate is get both!!
