That's sick.

Its damn fine!!! I want one!!

Even if Ferdinand Piech was your grandfather you wouldn't get one. They basically took a V12 engine that you'd probably get in the Phaeton and squeezed it into the Golf 5

Nah Brix you cant say it like and use the word "basically!!!!" Its a Biturbo W12 engine!!

Looks nice, but they're just doing a Renault(ok, longtitudinal engine, but that much weight would be fatal if mounted transversely)......

...and don't forget the 2 days to change the cambelt on W12......

...and I reckon the C of G is too high(after seeing someone nearly flip an NSX at Castle Combe on saturday).....roof chop, anyone??

@ Hlcn Twst

You are right, VW quality is shoddy and not a patch on Honda or Toyota.
Most Euro cars are over engineered and underdesigned and it shows when one has to work on them or pay someone else to work on them.

As a former Honda Service Technician I can tell you that Honda's are exceptionally well designed and built, their engines especially are superb. I've owned a 96 Accord - an absolutely outstanding car that I regret selling, a 1994 DOHC VTEC Integra - loved that 125Kw 8000rpm engine with 1.5L economy and most recently a 2001 Civic sedan with 1.5L SOHC engine (bought for its economical use of petrol) and am amazed with how good that is too - I was not a fan of the styling but am converted now.

Toyota's are boringly reliable - you'll get bored waiting for one to break, in fact, it probably never will. Unless it's a diesel Corolla, those are not good.

Personally I prefer the Honda's because of the way they incorporate F1 technology in all their cars, not just the top end models.

Edit: Oops! that should be 2002 Civic not 2001.
