Ta! but we forgot to tell the folks that Marble has a much lower temperature than most other materials found in the home, good for keeping cheese and cooked meats cool, great for party's, picnics and barbecues Etc...................

Well I got mine just after Orange launched it and as far as I'm concerned the body is tough plastic with the front being a type of METAL. I would also say that the buttons on he keypad flip are metal too.

You guys are kidding! All metals and non-metals have the same temperature if they are in the same environment long enough to get stabilized. The difference is how you feel as the metals conduct heat better than non metals and conductivity is different among metals. If you touch wood it will not conduct heat from your body while metal will - which will lower the temperature of your body part touching the metal. Of course, you feel metal cooler though the reality is otherwise.

Hi all !
Leaving apart these temperature issues, has anybody tried to cover the case with spray paint ? My P990 is quite used around the lower corners and I was thinking to dismantle it and repair it with a spray paint. I've seen in a local store a close nuance.
By the way the case is clearly plastic.
Thank you !

@raduci:
If it was only plastic, it wouldn't conduct electricity, like it (the part around the screen and QWERTY-keyboard) actually does. That is,
it's clearly not just plastic.
After following the discussions for a while, thinking, my educated guess would be something in the sounds of a plastic part covered with some kind of spray-on metal. (I doubt that "normal" metallic paint would have enough flakes in it to conduct anything, but I don't know fo sure.) That metal spray then probably has some kind of shield (like the K800i buttons have on their rubber), which can rub off in certain conditions. This bares the metal flakes, which in turn creates a phone like Johnex's. The fact that the flakes that are left on his phone sticks to his lips supports this theory a bit...
Anyhow, our beloved phone apparently has an easter egg: built in make-up glitter

After reading the whole thread, I've come to a conclusion: The part that surrounds the screen, keypad and navigation keys on my K790a is metal. It always feels much colder than the rest of the phone. Very cold, in fact, when I leave it in my school locker. I'm happy.

lol

Just to make things clear, the phone does not feel cold or warm for me. All parts on the phone are the same temperature. I still think it is like firetech says a spray on metal or paint. I clearly is very thin, as you can see from the pictures, since it has worn off. Also, when i placed it on my lips, some residue was left.
My dad works at ericsson, and he says that metallic paint is very much conductive. You can also see this page for a conductive paint example:
http://www.lessemf.com/paint.html. Just the presence of metal in the paint makes it faintly conductive. With pure metallic paint, it would almost be as conductive as its components.

Yeah, girls can just get a p990 and let if ware off a bit, then use it as lip gloss.
