I would suggest the Iphone or p1i, but the iphone is gonna be a long wait, so probably p1i. The n95 has a very short battery life and doesn't charge from a usb port so its a hassle keeping it charged.

WRONG. I am using a USB port right now on my computer. If you mean the connector underneath, i.e. the USB port why would it? Get your facts straight dude, or you will sound like Koto.

Well, someone please contact Apple and tell them not to launch the iPhone. I can see it tomorrow. Apple fires entire staff. iPhone not recognized by Daedalus. Entire economies world wide in shock. People wearing black armbands in mourning. A cloud covers the earth.

Or we can change the words Apple, iPhone and Daedalus and instead put SE, UIQ phones and Sapporobaby. To me it is quite similar.

No it does not charge from the usb port so if my facts are correct then yours are wrong.

Looking for passion on a forum. You are weird.

You made the statement, not me. You either lied, or you misspoke or you simply have no idea what you are talking about. 20 mb of memory was your words. You are the one tap dancing around an answer. You are the one offering me different scenarios. Sounds like your credibility is on the line. Not mine.

lol, 20mb free ram against 80mb, just think about it. And you are telling me that I dont know what I am talking about.

But ok, here it is:

Good post but which do you mean?

Here you go. The N95 has RAM, ROM, Phone Memory,Flash memory.

If you mean ROM, it has a limited size, maybe 20 mb, but you can't access that anyway. How about RAM? My N95 says total = 50mb (actually 49 and some change), Phone has = 160 mb, and this I can access via applications and such. (how much does the P1 have?). Flash memory = about 4 gigs (you see the N95 supports 4 gig cards while the P1 doesn't). So your 20 mb memory story checks out but is meaningless because this is where the OS is stored anyway, and is not user accessible.

Are you talking about the port on the phone or a USB port on the computer? You didn't specify. I clarified for you and you still did not specify.

Third time the charm? WHich is it. Phone or computer because mine charges with the Nokia CA-100 (go look it up) USB adapter for computer USB port. If you mean the USB port on the phone, then no it doesn't but then again, why would it when it can charge from the power plug like most phones to include SE?

Sorry to say but you make it all wrong. Ok, it was a nice discussion but I am afraid I have to go now. Appreciate your attitude and will to defend your view. Good night

Its pretty obvious, lets not play silly games but I guess you've nothing better to do.

Anyway back to topic, p1i seems like the best choice if you need it sooner rather than later otherwise iphone.

Universal translation = Sapporobaby was correct. Next time I will think before I hit the enter key.

I have had a P900 that is about to die.
I would've gotten a P990 except that i'm a mac user and wouldn't have been able to sync it.

I've been planning to get an iphone just because i'm tired of waiting. To be honest, i'm not sure i'll like data entry on the iphone but figured at least it'll sync.

Does anyone know if the P1 will be syncing seamlessly with the mac or not?

what would you guys suggest?

Hi all,

Well I also owned a M600 right up to after the 2nd firmware and if i hadn't sold it i would of smashed it into as many pieces as possible and sent it back to SE. It was in no way a fit for sale product and any one that tries to claim other wise is either a fool or a liar. If you think i i should pay for a device and wait 8 months plus for it to start performing as advertised you belong in a padded cell.

I'm afraid Sapporobaby is right the P1 has an extra 64mb Ram because it needs it and besides that it is yet again using a now very old processor why don't you compare soon to be released smart phone with smart phone. The N95 is a Multi Media smart phone it's priorities are multi media with the ability to handle business apps. compare the E61 with M600 released around the same time and same power chips. The E61 starts with over 25mb Ram and settles around 21mb Ram after days and has a 1500aMh Li Polymer battery WiFi and a 16M colour screen and of course VOIP. That's a fair comparison and it's really no contest one boots in over twice the time of the other and that's the M600.

If you want to compare the P1 to something put up against the the E90 and there is not one single area that the P1 has an advantage in fact the closet it comes is they both have a 3.2 mega pixel camera that's it. The E90 has all the latest chip. graphics and network support and quite simply the P1 doesn't. If the P1 had been one of the original UIQ3 devices i would of been very happy but a year later that spec is just so outdated for a yet to be realeased device it is a joke. My next device will be the last OMAP 2420 as OMAP Series 3 chip's are coming mean while SE are still using a 204mhz old Nexperia chip it's a joke.

We all get you hate Nokia for no other reason then what they deliver and what SE don't. I'm willing to bet i have owned and tested more Ericsson devices than most of you and was a more ardent supporter of Ericsson than you could even imagine. But when SE sold me a M600 i couldn't believe they could do that, respect is earned not a given and i am far to intelligent to just blindly follow a brand for the sake of it. If and when SE have a device with a proper spec i will look at it but i sure as hell won't be an early adaptor again once bitten twice shy. As far as i am concerned SE need to prove they can deliver and taking a Year with UIQ3 and still not getting there hardly inspires confidence either.

@ koto

You really make me laugh you think the N95 is so weak with 20mb Ram do you? at last it reclaims all it's Ram and boots in about a 3rd of the time your P990 does and doesn't proceed to leak .5mb Ram per day even using Swiss Man Pro @level 3 reclaim. You would think you died and went to heaven if your P990 was as stable and fast as a S60 3rd Edition device even nearly a Year later. If not why all the fuss for the new firmware and they hope of getting the same OS as the P1 if all is well. The proof is quite simply the P990 is now £229.95 and the M600 £199.95 and the W950 £219.95 even the W880@£229.95 is the same price and that's just a Walkman phone whilst the K810 @£224.95 is just a camera phone compare that to the flagship UIQ3 devices and those are new Sim free unbranded from Expansys that's how great UIQ3 devices are they can be bought for the same as ordinary phones how very sad for flagship products.

Marc
