Missing white balance option and no ev control. If that was true for W995 I'd be producing crappy photos. Was seriously considering Aino after knowing
I was mislead to believe it only has Megabass. Not any more

So it's epic-fail ? @ M.O. How "slim" ? I mean what features are there? If any?

@hihihans
I was more concerned with reliability rather than specs but the mentioned camera features should be a standard in any phone with a camera not just convergience or image-centric phones. Now, even if Aino's sensor/lens is probably better than W995's but without being able to control the camera the same way, I think its full potential may never be harnessed .Will it ever be possible to add those features with a firmware update (I doubt it though, hey, it's ) or is it a problem with the lack of hardware keys which pretty much means it's a done deal?

It has Clear Audio, but I was miselead into believing it only has Megabass because in some of the specs list it has been quoted to only have Megabass which is strange. But other specs mentioned Clear Audio which makes more sense. Can anyone confirm which of these are present in Aino?

to be fair it is a step in the right direction for a media based phone but theres something about the screen size which urges to be used for more than just the media mode and thats probably one of my biggest gripes about the phone...

I mentioned what it has in the Aino thread I believe. It's not a failure, it's just obviously more of a point and shoot camera than everyone is used to. You can still get some decent shots with it.

My iPhone 3G has no camera settings whatsoever (not sure about the 3Gs) but that doesn't stop iPhone owners taking photos and video and uploading them in huge numbers.

Yes, it is a backward step from our point-of-view but we need to consider the bigger picture of Aino's position in the market and who the target audience is. Like it or not, the market for the traditional high-spec 'Swiss Army Knife' do-everything feature phone controlled by increasing numbers of dedicated buttons is not just falling, it is falling at an alarming rate. Relatively low-spec, task-specific devices like the iPhone and various Blackberrys and the Palm Pre are the one's selling out. It's not surprising that should release an innovative device focussed more on media playback than media creation because that is where the market is at right now.

Perhaps we should evolve too. Our favourite do-everything phones are going the way of the dinosaurs I think.
