I know I will be seen as incredibly negative. However, without wishing to sound TOO arrogant, I've been in the game for 20 years - and I'm usually right (yup, that's pretty arrogant!). Believe me, much as I'd like to just talk positive and cross my fingers, I have got the point where I try and live exclusively in the real world.
Symbian has lost the plot. The fact they did hardly anything at their event this week (the comments from people who went were either incredibly negative or people were - at best - disappointed) helps prove my point.
Android can look boring, but look what you can do with it after a few hours of customisation, installing a load of apps for everything you need and customising the home screen(s). Okay, so you really need to have a Google account - but if you do, it's all set up and synchronised in minutes - and backed up for when you change device. I am having a nightmare trying to do the same on S60v5 (for everything, including email, contacts, bookmarks etc).
I will continue to be negative until I can proudly announce to the world that the situation has changed; S60 gets a major set of fixes, or Symbian goes under....

Nah, I understand where jmcomms is coming from completely. With Satio its not that easy to take advantage of it's many capabilities simply because of the UI. It's not very customisable and it has to be learned, almost like a language.
(I swear that
is a whisker away from having the perfect UI with A2(00).)
Regarding the photos on Satio, does anyone else think that the 9MP setting for the cam makes for the best results?

It's my job to use devices on every platform. I need to be clued up on using a BlackBerry, TouchWiz, A200, S-Class or whatever.
It also means I can quickly spot things that aren't done well on something, when it may not be that much of a concern to some people (if you don't know there's better, how would you know).
Yes, it can mean you get a little too involved and caught up by things that are quite niggly - but take the example someone else mentioned about T9 on S60, where you enter a word, add a full stop then press * to change the . into a ! or ? - and it changes the word!
Things like that are tiny faults, but compound very quickly into a series of things that eventually have people calling time and moving on.
The iPhone may not be a feature packed device, but the UI is second to none. Android is close behind, which is why I think Android could well be no.1 because of the wider support from manufacturers. Apple will maybe diversify, but it will still only be Apple making devices!

Its a simple task like that which should be a lot easier to do. Niggly - is the word!
For instance, it takes ten clicks to change the phone's profile on Satio (unless there is an easier way). With the shortcut menu on my C905 it takes 2-3!

You can press the power button to get a menu to change profile, like other S60 devices, on the Satio.

I did at first, but then i realised i simply wasnt using the camera properly. 12mp makes the better results. The 9mp 16:9 images just look better on a pc because the're scaled down.

Funny because S60 did not do this on other phones ive tried so im assuming this is just a bug. Id like to know what it is you do that makes you involved to such a degree. Is it your occupation ?
From my experience Symbian have been in this game a long time. Apple and Android have not. They're simply releasing clever functionality without any real depth to their product. Ive used an iPhone and had an Andriod device before (both on loan) and found their apps and general operation a little novelty. They may be flash but they seem rather shallow and lacking in depth. I always think of S60 to be a bit like watching an episode of star trek. Sometimes things are simple, other times something is hard to do but usually S60 provides a working way around it.
Hell theres things ive found my N95 8gb could do that not even my pc could do.

I'm sorry to say that my MMR-70 (FM radio transmitter) does not seem to work with my Satio. When I connect it, the text "MMR-70" appears on the screen, the orange Walkman logo on the MMR unit starts flashing, but then a message on the Satio says I should use the phone's microphone. It does not transmit any radio signal, however, and the MMR-70 does not appear in the list of accessories.
