The only certainty is that the planned P810 will support Duo Pro. If it doesn't it will be a major cock-up for SE.

This is a certainty is it?

I understood quite the opposite...

Call me a scepetic but I'll believe it when there is a 512Mb card in my P800 storing me apps etc.

Don't get your hopes up... big companies make mistakes all the time, especially on websites!

Chance the reader in the P800 can be upgraded to accept pros: 50/50

Chance SE will get their bum in gear and do it soon (if it's possible!) in a FW uprgrade: minimal

Chance I will be able to afford a half gig duo without limb selling: infinitessimal

Vermania you dumb shit. Imagine working for SE, when would you release a bigger capacity stick? Probably when you make enough money off the current sticks, yeh? Why too would you say one was in production? Then people would just wait. its a huge company mind set on money, they would be stupid not to bring bigger sticks out.

@TheBruce

This is not a mistake - there's a whole section which among other things demonstrates why they are compatible, with diagrams (although I had to hunt around a little for it).

It doesn't say that the P800 is upgradeable, but of all of Sony's/SE's products, I would have thought this would have been. The hardware, is 100%, certainly capable of reading Duo Pro sticks.

But like you say, it depends if they want to make it happen or not.

Well if it does come to light that 512mb sticks are compatible then i'll be buying one even if it does cost £300, well maybe if I get this job i'm after.
