truth is it can be done, get in contact with ofcom, and get them 2 complain on ur behalf, jus got a phone call from o2 this morning, asking if i wish 2 give my 30 days notice to cancel, i am only 4 months in2 contract o2 r lying to keep customers, and will resort to every measure to keep u, but as soon as u go to ofcom they back down

Just rang ofcom
They said its a legal dispute as its breach of contract i need to get a letter of O2 stating they wont budge on their descions then pass the letter on to OTELLO

they are to do with oftel and ofcom, basically just another company set up by the goverment to make sure that the likes of o2 dont abuse their power and mess consumers around

They may claim that, but they're clearly wrong. The contract clause quoted above refers to charges for "elements of the Service you are using" - not just the service itself.

yeah i got told that 2, and every lie under the sun, about it's only tariff, and international is not part of the service, they are a nightmare, i never have problems like this with orange, they are decent for their customer service,

Just seeing if anyone else has tried cancelling as i'm wanting to do it but i'm a bit cautious as to what they will say.
