I use a pair of AKG K271 Studio with a connector bought from pc-mobile. Works great, but you can forget about 128kbps mp3's, as you will hear the poor quality. 192kbps and above is excellent, though i could really use a bigger memstick.

I just use the Standard headset, or my phillips CD/mP3 player.

A little over a year ago I simply started retrofitting all my portable speakers (w/ amplifier) and headphones with the appropriate jacks to fit the Pxxx series. This required stripping the original jack off which is a delicate task. At any rate, it started with the headphones and portable speakers below. But now I've grown confidence in revamping some nice high-end Senheisers with noise cancelling capability. I've managed to get them to look esthetically respectable now. The trick to is make it look like the jacks weren't even tampered with and ofcourse make it work. This eliminates the need of having an extra adapter which in some circumstances could be quite cumbersome and easy to lose. The SE BT MP3 player headsets are nice with the exception that it still requires too many parts albeit its BT capabilities.

The other alternative was to build a thin adpter converter cast that would be implanted into the phone permanently without damaging the original jack. However, that project didn't pan out to well.. Although, I'm revisiting that thought and think I can streamline what I've done thus far.

I do my own modifications. This was just for testing. Works perfectely. Now I'll get a nice pair that I have been wanting to do this with and I'm all set. Already huge difference in sound and volume quality. Now I can listen to music and also answer calls without moving any thing.

Just a thought has anyone tried using a I-pod instead of turning their Phone into a MP3 player?LOL

No, cuz the iPod sounds worse than the P-series phones. The DSP chip used by the P-series is far superior to the one onboard the iPod. Capacity aside of course.

On that note, I'm rewiring an extra headset I bought just for this purpose with a 3.5mm jack right after the mic section so that I can use it with any pair of headphones, external speakers, cassette adapters, and FM transmitters as well... while keeping the mic section intact!

Will be using a pair of Shure Isolation earbuds once they arrive

They dont play the music from the Pxxx but from another source (Ipod etc). One connecter goes to the bottom handsfree of the phone another goes to the music source and then you plug in your headphones. Its not great if you want to listen to music that is on your phone as you would still need to use your SE headphones.
