Yeah. I agree. My definition of a perfect phone would be a phone that offers most of the features at a very competitive price. That phone should be unbeatable in itscategory. This unfortunately cann't be said about the S AND k700. But the T230 can be called an almost perfect phone. (In its price range) :-)

The pricing policy seems to only be affecting India. Sorry that people there want an expensive phone, but the bottom line is this, clear and simply. Here in Kuwait, and in most of Europe, people are willing to pay over $800 to $1100 for this "near perfect" in my book phone. Sorry that you can not afford one, but this is life. I have an s700. I also had a hook up from someone at SE, but the fact remains that no matter what, if I had wanted one, I would have bought one. Have you ever heard of brand deluting? Ask yourself why Prada, and Fendi articles are high priced and not sold in every store. Its to maintain the quality of the brand. The cheaper SE phones are designed for a lower market target. India happens to be at the end of that target. Here in Kuwait, they have not offered the lower end phones from SE. Here SE is selling the s700 (loooong list) for about $1000 and they are all presold and sold out. It is about your market. If SE can get $1000 for a phone, then more power to them. Your gripe is about the fact that you want a top line phone for a bottom line price.

Same thing here in the Philippines... the lower end SE phones aren't really big hits... the one that really did good here was the P900 when it first came out. Although I don't really like the S700, it's in very high demand here... coming close to the price of the P910 on the gray markets.
The T230 here was a flop, I only know a few people with the mid/entry level SE phones.
I see more people with the K700 and P900 (and a few with the P910)
In terms of popularity, so far this is what I've noticed here in the Philippines:
1) P900
2) T610
3) P800
4) K700
5) Z600
6) P910
7) T630
T68i
9) T310
10)Z200
This is just my personal observations of people I see.

I never said i need a top end phone at a low end price. When you compare an SE phone with that of other manufacturers, it isn't really an attractive option here. Kuwait is an entirely different market. So the market dynamics are entirely different. I love SE because i like the feel of their phones. The quality is great too. But other manufacturers also make quality phones. And they offer them here at a better price.

@jplacson - I quite agree with your last post dude . . . Though I guess that the SE P800 was more famous compared to the P900 - as the latter is quite very expensive! Yes, in ATC, I rarely see stalls selling the S700 - making an assumption 'out/release-in-the-market' secenario here with that of the P900 and P800! The SE T68i one was the Best Seller of all time - (Manila) . . .

JN... the P800 was very popular with SE fans... the P900 caught the rest of the public. I actually know a lot more people with P900s than I did P800s. And I see more P900s among business people than I do P800s.

Even if we make a physical count of # of handsets being sold ? making a quite stiff shift here, the Nokia 9210/9210i is the BEST tool for the majority in the BUSINESS field and to that of the 'who's-who' in the Arroyo administration !

name a nokia phone with cam, bt AND looks for that price?
SE should come out with a cheap symbian and a k700i with msd support and better looks. that would be the perfect phone
