What does TimePane do then?

TimePane
"TimePane" is an application that addsclock in status pane, so you can seecurrent time in any business application. Also it has timer, screenlock andquicklaunch features. Timer is highlyconfigurable (hardware/screenstart/stop/continue buttons, restore lasttimer setting on application startup, soundon/off). Quicklaunch allows to run one ofselected applications(timepane/calendar/tasks/jotter/messages).Demo version has some clock and timer limitations.
I remember this now & we had a thread similar to this at it's time of release. Again it was found to be very disappointing. Mostly due to the fact that the time appears over the status bar rather than being integrated in it & hence often covers up other icons!
BTW, "SE Desktop" now displays the time in flip open.

Have you tried the latest version 2.60 of Timepane? Yes even though it goes on top of the task bar rather than integrated, at least the latest version solved this shortfall by allowing us to LOCK the real time clock (both analogue or digital) into anywhere on the Px00/P910i screen. Also, I do not know of anyone (even Symbian Platinum partner Epocware) who are able to "integrate their app into the taskbar of Symbian OS. Take a look at Handyday 2004, it too also managed to only stay on top of the screen... The author even made the analogue clock almost exactly the same size as the Symbian's original little clock icon, thereby allowing us to lock it's position above the original one, but remember, that Timepane's analogue (and digital) clock is in real time, ie, the hour and minute hands moves every MINUTE, as opposed to Symbian's default!
SE's Desktop is a scaled down version on Tracker and Handyday... what has this got to do with Timepane? Yes I know it has a "clock", but so does Tracker and Handyday, BUT all 3 Desktop app will only display date/time when you are IN THE APPS, meaing that you will always need to go back to SE Desktop/Tracker/Handyday, in order to see the date/time. Timepane's clock is ON TOP of the screen, meaning it will always be there, in every single app that you are currently at, be it the app is in full screen or not, much like Handyday 2004's icon.
Cheers

Glad u like it!
By the way, I disagree.
The usefulness & opinions of any new app is always a valid talking point

J use it daily, on metings when i have the agenda in my P900 wich is laying on the table, and don't wanna turn on the light all the time wich i would without the app.
When the meting is over (or when i wanna turn the light off) i just press the internet button and the light goes in to auto mode, much more simple than go in to control panel!
I can't understand why you hate this app so much, look at the market, there's so much crap out there so why discuss this app?
And the best, its free.
