http://www.gsmteknik.se did it for me. I guess before mentioned software could do it as well, but thats nothing I'd consider for the average Joe..

They can accept phones by mail. The cam seems fine. I didn't see any degradation in quality from in R1J and have not been able to test R1K (W800i) enough yet.

Yes, there is an english language option.

Can you check the camera revision? press >* = right on the joystick,
The reason I ask is because they have severely reduced the camera quality on R1J and R1L from the R1A rev. Rev on R1A is 3.8, and on R1J and R1L it is 4.4. 3.8 had about 200k bitrate, where as they other revisions had 60-70k bitrate.

No it isn't that easy... For the same reason that one can not upgrade firmware in the K750i in general without using SE's update service (i.e. no file to emailed around).
