@OffLineR - it's fine to be critical and be aware of the various shortcomings of all these phones, but it's a fact that none of these gadgets is ever, or will ever, be perfect. The trick is to balance the weaknesses against the strengths (assuming there are any) and appreciate the device as a whole. On those grounds, the iPhone does satisfy a lot of people, not because they find details like the camera or the bluetooth stack beyond reproach, but because the overall experience is more than enough to compensate for these (something that many people with limited experience of the iPhone find difficult to understand).

I think this counts for all phones, Satio included. While it's easy to focus on a checklist of details when comparing these phones, I think the smartphone market has matured to the point where it's much more about the overall experience of ownership as well as the size of the camera, resolution of the screen etc, and it's on that the Satio will stand or fall.

You are right about the iPhone.
Most of the people who bought one is happy with it except the battery life.

Thanx a lot masseur, will check that out.
As for the iPhone, i cant personaly imagine buying a smartphone and having to hack it just to Multitask and do Bluetooth file transfer, but thats just me, iPhone is a nice phone but i still cant see myself getting one when comparing it to a Samsung Innov8 or Palm PRE.

I don't see why not. Does it matter anyway? exmor is just a brand. Its like saying "oh LED tv has better technology than bravia." Rubbish, both the new bravia's and new samsungs LED tvs use the exact same technology (edge lit LCD panel)

I think people are getting too caught up in this Exmor thing. I mean if SE thought Exmor was that good then why isn't it branded on externally on the phones that use it - like the C905?

Most people aren't interested in 'how it works' but in 'what it can do'.

hi

my friend had a pre release version of this phone(his brother in law is a director for T mobile) last night and i had a play.

first impressions are its definately trying to compete with the i phone from its interface and i found it fairly slow to shift between functions. i think this may have been because its a pre lease version. the touch screen is fairly responsive, i had to press the screen firmly at times to get it to respond but it was ok. the interface is similar to my Nokia N82 as well, lots of apps are on the phone including youtube button but not facebook. couldn't find what the browser was on it but again could be the rpre release model.

camera. 12.1 meg pixel. took a lovely shot, but i didn't think it was that much better than my N82 to be honest and it hasn't got a xenon flash either. but it was crisp and clear and there are functions that allow you to minipulate, auto colour enhance and add captions and speech bubbles.

the picture are scrollable when you touch them, and zip across the screen from right and left through your picture folders. a few times it didn't respond to touch so i had to firmly press the screen and it would skip a few pictures before settling on the image that you didn't want.

overall i found it nice, i personally don't like touch screen phones but with firmware tweaks it will be nice. it's big, slightly bigger than the N95, probably N96 size and is lovely black.

i will ask my mate to send me the pictures we took in the pub and upload them.
