there probably gonna have to tax people more or find revenue from somewhere else cause if the ban serve its purpose and people stop smoking then theyll be a hell of a short fall at the treasury.
maybe now we might get weed legalised or prostitution to make up the shortfall maybe every cloud has a silver lining

lol - dont we all wish...... maybe we'll get our own 'amsterdam' culture over in the uk..... where we can pop in a cafe to .............. (puff) (puff) instead of having to hid in the garden lol
But i think the lack of illnesses etc..... will cancel out the tax the gov. will be losing.... it will prob be marignally more tax.... but nothing significant...

I think this government is getting far too restrictive, maybe next they are going to build a big wall round the coastline, and the only one able to save us will be Snake Pliskin.

Im a smoker and to be honest I'm not bothered by the ban. I cant smoke in my office so I just go outside to smoke, big deal. Just have to do the same in the pub!
To be honest itll probably do me good, unless its the summer I cant be bothered going outside that often so I'll smoke less.

There's been bans on smoking here in various way shapes and forms for a while.. TBH I now enjoy going out to clubs and things, i don't feel like complete shizz at the end of the night.
I think on page 1 someone mentioned "smoking is a choice".. Sure.. For the smoker. Not for alot of staff of places where smoking might be enjoyed more. (Resteraunts, bars)
As a kid mum managed a resteraunt and we had the unfortunate pleasure of having to live in the 2 story apartment above it. There was almost as much smoke in the lounge by the end of the night as the bar. In fact it was eaiser to go DOWN to the bar to get fresh air when the place closed.
Are they doing the same there where smoking now just has to be outside?

This thing is just makes me sick! Pure bollocks!!! What next? Ban drinking in pubs? I won't be surprised... Anyway, I don't care, I will continue smoking in places. If they don't like it, fine me then. I'm happy to pay that 50 pounds fine or name it "more tax on fags". Fcuk them!!!

I'm all for this. I don't like smoking in any shape or form and it's nice to see that in a pub where food may be served that people don't light cigarettes before and after their meals.
Personally i view it as a waste of money as it's non profitable and aids the collapse of the life cycle of someone.

and ban drinking then, people drink then get in a car and kill other people by drink driving!
rediculous law, taking away our rights.
if you want to eat without smokers, go to a non smoking resaurant or non smoking area in the pub!
people that work in bars and pubs, they know the risks, smokey enviroment that causes them a danger. like a lot of bloody jobs do, but you make the CHOICE. but smokers are having there choice taken away from them.
AND ONE LAST ONE>>>>>
why can they smoke in the house of commons bar still after the ban!???!!???
the only other places you'll still be ablt to smoke are foreign consulate buildings as they are technically not british territory.....
