I never used to go for ericsson phone's but when they merged with sony it was a different story.
Exactly the smae with me, i didn't look twice at ericsson phones. My first ericsson phone was the p800 - and i regarded that as a gamble, even with Sony's name on it. Happy to say i wouldn't choose any other phone now, though they definately would lose a lot of brand recognition without Sony's name on the casings.

I won't bother. I'm tired of dissecting other users posts right now. I'll leave it at a statement for now.
@coxy: BestPic is from Ericsson
Actually developed by swedes @ the swedish part of SE in swe.

@S4k1s
If you are going to say someone is wrong you might at least explain why you think so old boy.

Perhaps it's better not to say anything at all if you can't be bothered to tell a person why you disagree with them? Infact you haven't even bothered to say WHAT you disagree with, let alone why.
Anyway, thanks for the BestPic info, that is very interesting.

I definitely think it will be a bad idea for these two companies who have fared quite well together as a team, to part ways. No doubt, as seperate entities they would lose the No. 5 market spot

I would not be surprised if Sony did sellup, they are currently backing out of many areas that are fringe to Sony's primary business (and SE is one of Sony's fringe areas).
IN early 2006 Sony have already closed, Aibo, Qrio, Qualia, ceased production of all Plasma TV's, phasing out CRT TV by 2008, and consolidating other areas.
Sony are in deep DEEP finacial do-do, and are, as the markets see it, paddling for there long term future.
