Besides GPS and HSDPA please tell me why this phone is better then P990i?

3.5mm jack? smaller size? 802.11g? If you don't care about 5mp, how about Carl Zeiss lens? 30fps? ... to just name a few

802.11g - not really and issue for what you do with a smartphone, b is enough

smaller size - valid, but it doesn´r have keyboard or touchscreen

Carl Zeiss lens - cheaper non-brand lens from SE are constantly getting equal or better results than CZ lens used by nokia...so that is nothing, really. If it had optical zoom, then it would be really something

30fps - valid, for people that actualy make videos with the phone

Peple should pay attention to the fact that the difference's between 2,3,4,5 megapixel camera's and phones actually have very little difference between them..specifically on phones tho, where they are compressed to hell..impressive for a phone, yes, very, but really, the camera isn't the most important thing on a smartphone...it's all over usability is....

I only partially agree with you buddy. A 5mp non optical zoom camera takes pictures reassembling a 1mp camera with a 5x optical zoom (if one where to ignore lens distortion in the optical zoom) @Arez Nice to see that even you give credit to the mighty N95. I don't want to engage in mindless postings with you or anybody als for that matter. I strongly believe thou - SE took its most loyal customers for a ride with the P990i. I know you will fight this statement to death (as a SE fanatic don't expect you to act otherwise) but is nice to see that even you realise now and then - there are some 'other' nice devices out there too

I think it would be better for SE to first start supplying the frickin Memory stick micro. What does it say about a company when they cant even ship a goddamn memory card?

I personnally think it's just a matter of personal use. I have a GPS integrated in my car so i don't need another one in my phone, 5mp camera ? Damn amazing but if i want to really take some good pictures i take my digital camera with me.

As i say it's just a matter of use, personally i use my phone mostly to send/receive my emails cause i don't have internet or email access to the outside where i work (cause it is a national protected site) so having a touchscreen and an AZERTY keyboard to input text is a feature i do need now. Having owned a 3650/6600/6630/6680 and recently a N80 i can say that they don't meet my needs, typing long emails with such keyboards is just way to difficult and time consuming....

So the point is that everyone needs to adapt their choice according to what they need, i think it's the most important.

Why do people always talk about the touch screen in the P990i? The P990i has a keyboard so the only use I get out of it is opening applications. Unless people are writing with the stylus, it's really not a useful feature.

The N95 doesn't have a keyboard and that's the only thing that's missing. Other than that, I think series 60 has come a long way and UIQ is really lagging behind now. When the P910i was out, nothing could touch it in terms of usability and functions. Now with the P990i, the form factor has not changed and UIQ3 has not really improved or moved on all that much, while series 60 is starting to really impress.

I love Ericsson and now SE but I feel this is the sort of wake up call they needed. I'm not about to buy a Nokia or any other phone for that matter but what has Se achieved recently? I long for the days when you looked forward to an upcoming Se phone( t610,k700, k750,s700 and p910). Now is the time for Se to show what it's capable of.

SE has shown us what it's capable of in the P990, the snag is SE has failed dismally with its offering. if it was a meal in a restaurant you would send it back to the kitchen or refuse to pay for it.

@locoworks I'm with you there man. All I'm saying is let's see them react to Nokia's onslaught. I'm sure they will but it will need to be a complete response. No half measures here like they recently seem to be doing.

To tell you the truth, I personally wouldn't bother with any Nokia S60 phone because the platform you simply isn't mature enough yet, added to the fact that Nokia phones are going downhill at the moment!.

I have had the N80 and the N73 in the past month. The N80 was a technically brilliant phone, but was let down by poor battery life, slow and clunky software and frequent crashes.
The N73 was a lot better but the phone had the annoying knack of switching off everytime I answered a call, which rendered the phone useless.

The N95 does look good but I would wait for 6 months after release before considering getting it, which I want I'm going to do.

In the mean time, I'm going to get the W850...

lol is s60 is not mature enough then UIQ must still be a little sperm
