Mine (the part we're discussing) also feels cold when it has laid for itself for a while. (That is, on a table rather than in your pocket.) At least it did before the sunny weather came. It's currently 35 centigrades in the sun outside my window and I'm sweating like a pig.

i hear you bro, im in stockholm, 26 degrees here. Waiting for the fracking ups truck to come with my new headphones.

On mine, the part that we are talking about, the bare part is the same as the rest of the phone. IF the phone is in a cool place, like a cupboard for awhile, the front of the phone is slightly colder, but not the bare part.

Ok, with those facts, I think we can safely say that it's plastic covered by some kind of metal flakes. Either metallic paint or just metal flakes with a shield over it (like I was talking about earlier).
