Perhaps a silly question, but has anyone tried this with a simple java app like google maps? That would be enough for me. Although im still waiting for a fix so that it can work with the p1i and the rest of the smart phones.

Ok, so I got my GPS Enabler HGE-100 today. The device is cool and the sound quality from the speakers seems quite good. I used the tracker and GPS location applications without any problems. I only played a little with the wayfinder stuff because I think it is kind of useless to have to pay for a GPRS connection every time you use it. I would much rather download maps for it.

Anyway, I noticed when browsing the phone from my computer a folder in the "Other" directory called sports. The files in this seems to be the track information from the tracker software, what I would like to know if I can open this file on my PC. The whole reason I bought the GPS was to import this track information into Google maps or similar. or to upload info from Google Maps to the phone and then follow it.

Does anyone know if it possible to read these files from the phone, or if there is another software that will work with the phone. I have checked out Trekbuddy, navigem and GPSJ, which all seem to only work with bluetooth GPS's.

Hopfully someone has a solution to this problem otherwise I have just bought a turkey.

Cheers,
Dave.

Its about time for some compatible soft to make an appearance, i m sure that right after a working, official soft appear, we will soon able to get a similar free version of it. But how much long we have to wait?
I was ready to buy this device, but the negative feedback prevented me, of doing so, it seems that was the right choice.
And if i m not mistaken, the device isnt as precise as the surf star III GPS devices, but is it any better than the Nokia built in?

Just got some interesting informations from the author of mobile trail explorer.
http://www.substanceofcode.com/software/mobile-trail-explorer/

He finally got a HGE-100 and he has been loking for a suitable software and found trekbuddy (as com port
you have to choose comm:AT5 and baudrate 9600: http://www.trekbuddy.net/
Also mgmaps supports gps over serial bus.

But both softwares have not the lot of features like mobile trail explorer, so he thinks about implementing HGE-support to his software.

Let'S see and wait.
