Maybe that new P-series will be branded under "Clie" or "Vaio" division highly doubt the previous, and would bring new innovations like Tilting OLED LCD, slimmer, Rotating MotionEye AF camera, integrated Imageon Chip, or whatsoever

A name for the alleged P990 successor, if it is anything like its older brother how about the

"Ptake"?

BTW I was told by staff in the Bluewater store in Kent quite categorically that the Vodafone stores will not be taking the P1I wonder why (not!!)

i understand them, but truth is, the P1 is a very good product, from the start, unlike the P990, that took several months to become stable

Hi ares, I totaly agree with you I love my P1 and its a great product (still cant master the keyboard fully!) but the point I was trying to make was that thanks to the P990i debacle the damage has been done and need to be very very careful about what and how they release smartphones in future.

The silliness of this is that at the same time we're all hearing that Vodafone categorically will be shipping the W960i, even though on a technical level it's virtually identical to the P1i, and just as closely related to the P990.

If anything, the W960i will have the more demanding audience too - personal users who aren't used to any of the niggles that business/pro users have come to expect from their smartphones.

Its an interesting idea that it'll have the "Viao" or "Clie" badge, viao would kinda be for something more like the nokia 9500 IMO, where as a Clie badge would fit right in with a PDA phone, touchscreen only, camera, wlan etc etc etc

Sony had some nice products under the clie brand, imagine something like the nx80 with gsm/utms/hspda etc plus wlan and uiq3 instead of plam os
