know what? people buy this so they can show the worl "Hey look at me, I'm rich." Thats my thought about it and if they are happy with that, then let them. But if I had that much money, i'm not to boastful to buy that piece of crap, im just going to buy more Functional phones.

W200 is popular? Are you for real? I've yet to see anyone with that phone. And again this shows your lack of understanding.
8800 isnt suppose to sell 1 million copies. nokia has a target in mind, say 100,000(thats a ball park figure) and if it surpasses then its a hit.

evidence of what? you want me to take a picture of all owners of 8800 and upload it here? when was the last time a company released actual sales figures of their models?

well...I can confirm that I did see sh..tloads of 8xxx in my country; certainly more than SE' P series... Personally, I do not find them really attractive ( especially Scirroco and Arte, first one was kind of OK ), but that is just the matter of design - I don't like Nokia's design in general. Wouldn't mind seeing SE's take on the segment, but I would expect to see some real quality regarding the camera, sound quality etc.. As far as the price of those Nokias is concerned... it is quite logical knowing which is the target audience; I mean majority of the people I know that are using them, need ( or know how to use ) just a basic call and SMS functions...rest of the time, they are polishing their phones and admiring the shiny finish, so why not let them pay for it ? :-)

I had (still got as a spare) a Nokia 8800 and its true its got a poor camera, so-so screen, what it does have is rock solid build quality and the slider action is one of the best I've encountered.
Each to his/her own I suspect!

But that still does not justify the price just cos it has great build quality. SonyEricsson W890 has fantastic build quality but thats not over priced. They say it has superior materials but it is not its the same as any other phone made of a solid metal. And features are nothing different too.
