12,000 txts is not unlimited either. Unlimited is without limits.
Unlimited 3G data is likely to disappear according to
this blog. Networks just cannot afford to provide it with the current projections for future 3G smartphone usage.

There seems to be a difference between the £7.50 bolt on and what you get included in a tariff. I don't know.

Possibly O2 staff such as those who have posted in this thread however are told by the company to promote the network and play down / deny any negativities it may have ?
My ex-employer once told me to promote the company on places such as forums, social networking websites etc.

Well O2 have cut me off again, this time I have used 450MB this month, I was told I have to wait 3 weeks to be reconnected but that is of no use to me whilst using an Android phone, so I have now gone to T-Mobile, unfortunately this leaves me having to pay for the O2 simplicity for the next 6 months.
I will be ringing Oftel in the morning to see exactly where I stand regarding this issue, but at worst I will have to pay O2 £120 to terminate the contract and put it down to experience and hope that the governing bodies can get a grip of the whole 'Unlimited' data issue and put consumers straight as to what they are getting and ensure we can compare one networks 'Unlimited' data limit against another.

Not being funny but I seriously think people should not bother discussing this topic no more on here because you won't get anywhere & people are fed up with reading the same thing over & over. Take things up with your network you won't get anywhere moaning on here

Not being funny but forums are for discussions, I would like to share/discuss my experience with O2 and the data limits imposed, I know where to 'moan' to get things done and I am doing.
Each topic of discussion has a title, this one being 'yet another "unlimited" data discussion - was: whats wrong with o2 retentions' if you do not wish to read the posts within certain topics simply do as I do and bypass them......

O2 network has a lot of good things going for it, but providing data isn't one of them.
My experience mirrors yours, my 2007 contract was converted to simplicity and I never had problems with data limits, but my october 2009 simplicity contract (30 day luckily) did have limits and I switched to Vodafone after 3 months.

Yes, I had no problems with O2 whatsoever until they started to cut me off, I had moved my Mum, Dad and 2 of my brothers over to their network as I regarded them as the best.
Unfortunately despite me being a customer of 6 years they are reluctant to help me with the issue and so I am forced to leave.
