I have decided just to stick with 2.3.4 on my Xperia Neo V as its stable and very smooth! The other reason is half of my apps I installed were released a while ago and havent been updated by the devs so I would rather keep to the same version. I also with 2.3.4 get heaps of ram compared to ICS so again I would rather use 2.3.4 as I have game emulators i.e n64 which requires at least 80mb for games so I would rather free up my ram for that and it runs very smoothly too!

I have taken some screenshots which i will upload soon!

@Tranced: Im currently using the stock SE 2.3.4. I flashed it from Wotan Server (Central Europe IIRC). I also ran the V6 supercharger script and loaded the Xperia S mod pack from Xda-Devs.

Much nicer than stock 2.3.2 branded for sure.

Im currently investigating on CyanogenMod as an option. However, Id like to update it to Stock SE ICS if the update doesnt get pulled back from the original estimates.

So got the 4.0.4 update today...

Have to say, its A LOT better than the original 4.0.3 update. Much smoother! Hoping battery improves, as the batter in 4.0.3 suffered a bit compared to when my neo v was on gingerbread!

Very happy! Good work with the updates Sony!

@annafee

Neo V. It, along with Arc S and Ray got a 4.0.3 update first. So I was glad to see these phones got the update to 4.0.4 as well. (thankfully I didnt have to wait long)

Anyway, now that Arc users are getting 4.0.4, id say yes, definitely update. If it was 4.0.3, I would have said wait for a firmware update. It simply wasnt smooth for the most part, and battery suffered a little.

4.0.4 is, as I said, a lot smoother from what I have seen so far. Too early to say about battery. Couple new apps (Media Remote, Power Save Mode).

Is it 'faster' than the latest Gingerbread ROMS which the 2011 xperias had? Probably not. My Neo V seemed a little quicker/smoother with gingerbread. Again, though, 4.0.4 is much better than 4.0.3 so far for me, and I think users will be happy....

RE Screen shots. Things havent changed a whole lot cosmetically.

Ill see if I can take a video. No promises though, bit busy!

Is there a lag in video recorded clips, like in 4.0.3?
