> Weakness in P900 frame?

I have placed a very small rubber 'washer' kind of circular thingy and it seems to work quite well. The keypad always stays a bit above the frame even inside the pocket. I am going to keep it like this even though its a liitle inconvinient (sometimes the washer falls off and I have to put it back).
Dont ask where I got that blue rubber piece. You can find something similar easily. Sorry for the blurry images. They are from a Nokia 6600. You should remember tha P900 cant take a pic of itself
Checkout the flip and how it hangs above the frame

Well actually, i dont use the keypad!. I want to keep it because i dont want to spoil my screen... but yes, with that small rubber piece in place, the keypad remains a little bit above the frame, but when you press the keys, it starts touching the frame. I think you can even prevent that by putting a stiffer rubber peice.

A stiffer blocking may induce higher torque on hinges when buttons are pressed. Maybe similar with the flip being pressed in the pocket.
I guess the load will then be transferred to the hinge

Me using the belt-pouch, so no problem. If you keep in pocket and your pant is too tight, it might - but the rubber is too soft and there is no such pressure on the hinge. Also probably the rubber will loose its elasticity soon i think. Need to think of a better way.
But still I am unable to understand what causes the crack. Agreed its a design flaw. I think there is a gap between the frame and the touch screen (thats why people find it very easy to 'slide-in' the screen protectors). Because of this gap, I think it develops the crack over time. Maybe the thinkness of the screen protector will help to fill up this gap?

My screen protector (MF) does not go beyong the visible part of screen. I dont know of any which does.
Probably its just the concentrated pressure on the edge of a thin plastic frame. If the pressure point is moved or area is increased (both now done in P910), that should be it

what i did was i placed a film tape 0.3mm thick on tjh lower part of the phone, where it comes in contact with the keypad back panel, the result was satisfactory. side rubber those not hit the side frame anymore.

well i guess it matters how you close the phone as well.I guess you are not to just close the flip in a hard way.I have been doing it in a gentle way.I guess that helps.

I noticed that my phone had developed a crack to the right hand side outer casing last Monday. My keypad is still attached to my phone, last Friday whilst out I noticed that my screen had gone black. I switched the phone off and then on again, it was still black, when I opened the flip it revealed a hairline crack to my screen eminating from where the crack to the outer casing is.
CPW engineers in their infinite wisdom are claiming that I droped the phone, I have threatened to cancel all of the companies phone contracts, all purchased through them unless my screen is replaced free of charge.
SE must realise that if this problem exsists at their expense they should put it right. Purchasers are investing vast sums of money in their product, a product which should be able to be left in ones trouser pocket no matter how tight without the phone being damaged.
In my mind not only do I currently have a damaged screen Sony Ericsson have damaged their reputation as far a I'm concerned.
