An item is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. If the majority of people are prepared to pay £500 for a S700 then it is worth £500; if the majority of people are prepared to pay £5,000 for a S700 then it is worth £5,000. As I said before, it's subjective; it all depends on how much value you place on a certain amount of money.

The right price is the one people are willing to pay. Apperently S700 seem to be good enough to attract a lot of people to pay the high price and your complains will not change that. Accept it and move on to another phone or what else interests you.

Maybe cybershot lenses are more expensive - I really dont know
But £400 is still pricey
So... the s700i has a great camera - The best I have seen on a phone
But you could get a K700i for £160 new on amazon - I did
I am completly satisfied with the picture quality
I agree with the two devices issue. But the s700i isnt exactly small is it...

O2 250 is a pretty normal contract, isn't it? Not bad value, if you need to use you mobile that much. And £99 for the S700 is less than the cost of 2 tanks of petrol, for me.
If you can't afford it, stop moaning. I can't afford a DB9, but I don't moan about it - others just don't want to hear, and it won't put the Aston on my drive any sooner.

There is an element of truth in what you say, but firstly, FW upgrades and supposed developments in software do not, by any means, always solve more problems than they cause.
Secondly, there will always be early adopters, as is the nature of any hi-tec industry, who make up a substantial enough proportion of the market, that prices of in-demand handsets do not fall that far or that quickly.
And thirdly, look at the P series phones. The P900 was released in the UK at £499.99, and was selling for £449.99 a year later, right up to the release of the P910i.
It doesn't always pay to wait
