well, i had my K700i firmware updated on 18th Dec 2004 and was pretty satisfied with the performance.

somehow my phone auto reboot on 20th December when i try to press on the camera button. it well white screen for about 6-8 second and then it reboot itself.

i believe i am the first one here to report this problem. it seems eveyone are so happy with the R2AE033.

p/s do not ask me how i did it. i just want to use my camera by pressing the camera button and then it reboot.

peace out

@vee

Firstly, sorry for the stupid questions you guys will have seen over the last few days, just got my K700i so extremely new to all of this.

Ive booked my phone in for a Firmware update tomorrow at my local Sony Ericsson Service Centre because CPW had a 2 hour queue. Would they (SE) have the ability to change this camera sound option for me or would I be able to do it when I get home via bluetooth?

Cheers,

Jay

hi,

hmm I don't know if you will be willing to do it in your SC. they should be able to do it and try to tell them that it is very important to you for some reason. they usually just make the upgrade and don't care about other issues. this is a more-thinking-before-I-press button work, but really not so hard

you definetly won't be able to do it over BT when you come home .

It seems like none have given you the right answer if R2AE is the latest at SE service points.

When you take a picture (with the new camera s/w 3.10) in low light room, does the picture have that noise problem with the green and blue grains?

like this one!

The noise in low-light situations comes from trying to "gain up" the signal from the sensor and reflects the signal-to-noise ratio of the captured image. The way to reduce noise is to reduce signal--i.e., have a darker picture. I doubt any firmware revision is going to change the S/N ratio much. Of course, if I'm wrong I'd love to hear it, but...

just compare a picture taken from a k700 with one taken from a sharp GX20 or a NOKIA 6310 or even from a mitshbishi M320i. The first one is the worst.
When you see the foto from the viewfinder before pressing the camera button, the picture is clear (with the expected reduced framerate). When you press it, sudently appears that noise!
It is clearly a s/w problem
