the "new" firmware.. does not go to all V800 owner.. it only relates when u cant dwnload Live content.. if urs works so it doesnt really matter. The reason bein they release this "new" firmware at an early period, is bcoz voda is loosing potential $$$ as user cant dwnload voda content.. so its really a need to make a new one as soon as possible.. so they wont loose $$$.

Well, I returned my "creaking" r1e V800 and the Voda store actually let me check some replacements V800s to ensure they were ITP r1f!!

I now have a "not creaking anywhere as much..yet" ITP r1f "shouldn't have any probs downloading" new V800.

Also, on the 3G tariffs, Premiership highlights, ITN news and film clip videos are completely free..as is general WAP browsing...so they won't be making any extra money out of me!!

@gadgetnutter

Aren't they only free for three months though?

I tried to download a news clip today and it wouldn't work, I did manage to stream it, but it simple refused to download. That's the first time I have had a problem downloading from live!

No,

On the specific 3G tariffs (where the phone costs £150!) Premiership clips, News clips, Film clips, basic find & seek info as well as all WAP browsing is free for the duration of the contract..or until I change tariffs

@gadgetnutter

I am on one of those tariffs and I was told that those services are only free for three months. I can't see Vodafone giving away so much, that would cost them a fortune!

From the T&Cs on the back of the Live it brochure

"2. The customer will be entitled to 500/1000 Anytime Minutes & 100 text, 50 minutes video calling and football, film & news video for £40/£60 per month for the life of the contract."

I have had it confirmed by my Voda store that this content is free until I either cancel the contract or more importantly, change tariffs!

So you've got it for free!!

It's only for 3 months if you signed up to one of the existing Anytime tariffs with a Vodafone Live 3G content bundle....not one of the specific 3G tariffs!
