Route 66 will NOT work on anything less than a P910
mobilefun.co.uk were selling a P910 and P800/900 version. The P800/P900 version is now gone and only the P910 is listed. It also says it will ship in 7-14 days, so no more coming soon.
So 66.com a while ago did list all the P series phones but then removed all but the 910, mobilefun have now done the same.
Looks like ifyou want satnav on your 900 wayfinder is the only option now.

I will be reviewing Route 66 shortly for the P910. If anyone has any questions (over and above what's already in this thread) then I'd be happy to answer them as soon as I get the unit, which they say will be in 4-7 weeks.
This information comes directly from their PR company, so should be reasonably accurate.

mbailey, you say you expect the unit in 4-7 weeks - is this from expansys, mobilefunshop, someone else or direct from route66?
Does this mean expansys' implied 'we can get it as soon as you order it' is not the case?

hi all, hi NILS7, a few question about tomtom and P910 , please answer if you can: (sorry for the repost)
1) the P910 CPU is fast enough for Tomtom? examples of slowdown routing? (i use now a ppc asus 620bt for tomtom and my smart P910 for all other stuff, and i think the P910 is a little bit slow : i don't like to see: turn right in 150 mt ... when the turn is 5 mt ... , what your experience? )
2) i use sometime tomtom mobile for nokia 6600, symbian os and he work like a charm: same experience on P910?
3) is possible to use tomtom on P910 in landscape mode?
TIA

Please try to post TomTom questions in the TomTom topic
1) It doesn't have any lag... it would be more shocking-wise than a lag if you might experience any problems.
2) Yes but it is more like the PocketPC version but with series60 icons.
3) Yes

Cheers to jcwhite_uk who pointed me in the direction of this link and locked out my other one but I had tried a search but unfortuantely had no luck.
anyways, does anyone know if there would be any problem with getting a copy of the Route 66 software for a P900 from someone and using another brand of GPS receiver? Does the software come with an activation code and can it be used more than once?

most likely you cant do that.cos its illegal and nav software makers tend to do what they can to stop it.

Just thought I would post this response I had from Route 66 Customer Support when I asked about the compatibility of the P900 and route 66 2006 that Expansys are selling on their site
"Dear Sir,
Unfortunately the Sony Ericsson P900 will not be compatible with the upcoming product. Please consult our web site
www.66.com for details.
Kind regards,
ROUTE 66 Customer Support"
Hows about that for a kick in the teeth from Expansys. I am going to E-mail them with this to see what they say.
