Can anyone tell me if there is a way to speed up data transfer onto my W900 via usb.

It seems a bit slow I was wondering if the phone is configured more for pc than osx.

Anyways nice to know Sony have finally got a model that works with Macs.

Does your Mac have USB 1.1 ports or USB 2.0? If its 1.1 you'll really only see a speed increase by getting some USB 2.0 ports.

Jools, g5 rev b usb 2 on it.

I tried writing to ms and it was about same speed so it would seem to be right.
Another question is, can I now upgrade firmware from ?
And if I can how is it done?

I've managed to lock the phone out (sim lock) puk required, lesson here is don't change codes when you've had a beer or five, anyway as I'm waiting for the phone to be ported from O2 to Vodaphone I cannot get puk code, will firmware change/reset defaults if it will I can take it back to CPW.

You still can't upgrade phone firmware on a Mac I'm afraid. You need to use a Windows PC!

Apparently all new SE models are using OTA (over-the-air) firmware upgrades, so no computer will be required at all soon... doesn't help existing models though...

Yes of course, because XP running on an Intel Mac is the same as XP running on any other PC hardware...

My w900 has frozen after I had to disconnect from my mac without ejecting the phone.
The phone wouldn't show up on mac and then mac froze and I had to hold power button down on mac to get everything going again.
Any ideas?
