Maybe that wooden celfone was included in the . . . . Noah's Ark
I have a query here re: the Ericsson T28s mates, how come some models have this -CHANNEL INFO feature while other's don't . . . how is this connected with the Ericsson T28 - TEMS

Many thanks!

If you'd like to add Battery menu to your T28 or R320, just change the value of EEPROM at address 0A5D from 00 to 01. Then the item will appear in the settings menu and you will be able to read battery temperature, phone temperature, nominal bat. capacity, actual capacity, some currents, phone state, etc.
The T28 and R320 have Channel Info enable flag located at address 0A5C, so try to write 01 to the address 0A5C and it will be switchable from level 0 up to level 3.
You can also can activate net monitor on Ericsson T20s, A2618s, A2628s.
Edit EEPROM at:
0353 - ChannelInfo Allowed
0354 - Battery Allowed
In the eeprom you have to change the byte at the address 0353 from 00 to 01 to activate netmonitor.

But this is an implemented function which is not compareable to the functions of a T28 TEMS. In T28s you have much more options and you can use (if you have T28 TEMS PC firmware) it to log the whole net-actions, strength etc to PC and you can pair the informations with a GPS-system and a map and so you can write your own net-strength-maps for example.

So is this considered then to be a T28 TEMS Handset? Also could anyone fill me out on how to go about reteiving a forgotten lock code

T28 TEMS and T28 with activated netmonitor are two very different things.
The chanel/netmonitor is a fucntion which is build in in all Ericsson handsets and can be activated by changing 00 to 01 at special EEPROM adress.
T28 TEMS is totally different firmware with much more functions like logging net activities, lock the phone to special channels, collecting informations about the net-strength etc. There are two versions of TEMS firmware. TEMS pocket and TEMS PC, the pocket firmware enables a special TEMS menu in the phone with more than ten menu-pages and the functions like locking to a special channel etc. can be done by the phone and outside without any accesiores.
The TEMS PC looks like regular firmwre (no special menu) but can be used with PC-application like TEMS investigation or TEMS deskcat. All inforamtions are given to the PC and you can make log-files or use a GPS-system and a local map to mark the strength in a map.
For getting the lockcode you need a flash-cable and some little program like ATR 5.0 or any other free unlock-programm. You also can do it with SEtool or davinci-log but this is not for free.

@Tiger & JN :
Thanks a lot for that very informative answer. Its always nice to hear out from guru's such as yourselves.
By the way, I am very sad to let everyone know that my ONE & ONLY T39m (rose white), favorite color, was snatched from me just yesterday morning, the good thing is that my ICT-10 was left clinginig to my belt. In my desperate efforts, searched thru my spares & had found my defective T39m (classic blue) amongst the rubble & tried to have it repaired over at a local /// servicing centre (no power).
Most likely it had something to do with the power IC or amplifier. Sadly they could not get it working again. Feeling bad, I never opted myself going to work that day & now my /// COOLection is less a T39m
SAD SAD SAD
