@just4kix
sorry guys for the late update. i had my d-pad changed for free. but, i sold my my w850 for a k800i. i am not really amused with the camera quality of it. but, i had fun with the w850. a sexy phone really.

I'm actually thinking of selling my phone as well. It's only been with me for a month yet I still feel there's something lacking to it.
It's generally okay though. If only the W950 wasn't so expensive.

and that icon will automatically pop out once you're in a 3G area...
Only if you have an USIM (UMTS enabled SIM) or also when you have a non-USIM?

I doubt that, since the phone won't know how to access 3G/UMTS if you don't got a USIM (it looks exactly like a normal SIM, you can't tell the difference in most cases)... My P990 doesn't show that icon without a USIM, anyway.

My operator didn't have to re-issue USIMs when 3G was rolled out here in the past year, and my previous K600, K610, W950 and now my K800, and M600s ive seen all show the 3G icon and let us access 3G services just fine. It could be a P990 thing, or more likely, the operator decides if they let you use 3G services without a USIM or not

I've had W850i for 4 months now and no crack on black version. Good phone, but no on 4th handset under contract, earpiece speaker keeps vibrating and distortion in voice, can hear own voice through earpiece. 2nd handset faulty, 3rd wouldn't even turn on and when charged set on fire, 4th handset has same fault as first. So far not impressed with SE, had others beofre T68, T610 both fine, this one is rubbish. Anyone else experienced same probs?
Good news though still no crack!

found a small hairline crack in the part between the center button to the down button while cleaning my phone yesterday... at first i thought it's ok and continued to use it, but after sending 1 or 2 messages right after, it spread and now it evenly break off the space between the center button and the dot -_- just like the photos posted here
just now called the singapore orchard service center, and fortunately they said they will repair it for free if it's the 1st time

but i'm scared that the d-pad will crack again...
