There are a lot of improvements. The phone is R9...
I am not sure if anybody collected or publicized a list of the improvements, but you must upgrade.

Okay guys now i got my p990i too. The 1st thing i did to it is Master reset, internal drive format, updated to fw r9 (phone software), then again formated internal drive and then master rest. Now am a happy man have synced my contacts and trying to config the gprs of my service provider (bsnl) . can some body help me in doing so. and please also let me know what should i do next to get best n'joyment out of my device

I was able to find BSNL, but there are like 12 entries. So go here and choose the one applicable to u.

Guys i wonder how u see movies or any video in fullscreen? U keep the flip open and watch those? Is that easy task? is not it weird to remain open the flip in one side of the set to watch videos?

Hey ppl i hv a sers problem here....1stly my P990 seems to b fine and has rebooted once or twice only BUT theres somethin rong wid the time/date etc...every time i set the tme n date it duznt let me change from London...for instance i choose islamabad (Pakistan) as my current time zone in 1-2 categories but in the 3rd one (time of interest or somethin) it duznt lemme change ...even if i change it reverses my current time zone...i dun get this....due to tth my alarms not only reset their settings but also dun play the tune i set for them...is this a firmware issue?
I have been trying to install SEUS on my notebook..but after installation when i run the program it duznt start citing the error tht Java error or "not correct macromedia version". I figured it had somethin 2 do wid flash etc...so i downloaded flash, shockwave, and even Java Virtual machine...still the SEUS isnt running...wats rong here? Also can someone temme is it possible to directly update my firmware by connecting my phone to internet via my Wifi? coz tht wud save a lot of hassle...if possible then how?
lastly can someone pls post the link for M3 or ne encoder which converts best quality vids for P990...thnx ppl...help me out here...

No, you cant update it throu your phone on wifi. You need SEUS for that. And as for M3, you just need to search this forum and you will find it. About your time problems I have no clue. I dont think that I have heard about this problem before

Yeah mate, i had the same prob with my SEUS (incorrect macromedia version), there is some info about how to fix it if u search the forum, or u could do wat i did: Simply make another windows account (logon I.D. and stuff) and the open SEUS using that account, it should work.
