It is indeed very sad to see the finest and most innovative company a couple of years ago to become what it has become. SE used to be the leading company, the were innovative and the trendsetters on the market, and even nokia couldn't do much about it.
I hope that the will become the leading company as the used to be, i really hope so.

Looking at the old ericsson phones, i must say, they are seriously very ugly. And today if you want to release a phone, it must alteast be good looking

T68 ugly ?
they were in a design renaissance before the sony deal

but in case they decide both to go different ways, i see sony to totally repell from the mobile buisness and ericsson stay a hardware platform developer (ODM)

so no one here should pray for that case

I wouldnt call T68 even remotely attractive looking. Its just the less ugly of the lot. And thats just one out of many phones they had. As soon as they joined hands with SE you saw the beautiful K700

K700 a beauty ? well i owned it
its not a well ballanced design nor has it a good build quality (next to my T650 it looks like a cheap fisher prize toy ... even my T20e had a better build quality[still works - no scars])

keep in mind that design is personal.
Ericsson was chaging its way of design, T65/66/68 where all new to them. Internal antenna, combining 2 colours.
More and more people liked the new way of Ericsson.

K700 was ungly to almost everyone who once loved an Ericsson.
And like said here, it was bad phone, designwize, build quality, ergonomics, cam, battery...

@bart
K700 was an exceptional phone, I know 'cause I had a (Vodafone branded) one. It was ground breaking in many respects and sold in huge numbers. It was many peoples first introduction to SE, bluetooth, themes, MP3 players, colour screens, PC connectivity, MyPhoneExplorer and Esato.

And where do you get off saying this:

...Many of you will now say, hey SE is giving free vacation trips for the salesteam who sells the most SE, thats true, but many other brands are doing the same, and in the rest of europe SE isn't giving away that much.
Samsung is known for such deals, thats why their phones are more expensive then others...

...without any evidence to back up such a statement?

So far in this thread your posts have been total rubbish and not contributed to the discussion at all.

@Dogmann
Comments like "Sony are not the company they were 8 yrs ago; they are worse" are debunked by the Fortune magazine article I linked to several pages ago and the whole 'consumer hatred drives market share results' theory is absurd. There are many other reasons for market share fluctuations, and these are bourne out by market research of the type undertaken and posted by Michael Mace on his excellent blog and other credible media sources of which MR is not one. If you do PROPER research into the topics for discussion you'll find that out.

Oh and please take your own advice re: reading your posts before hitting SUBMIT; your comments are becoming unintelligable.

ask anyone who worked in a phone shop. These things are real.

And no offence but i don't believe everything the wright in the papers, But now we are wondering off.

In total i would call you funny. You work for SE or sony, or you are "less smart" when it comes to telecom and SE.

What Mr Mace knows about the EUROPEAN mobile market could be written on the back of a postage stamp, Sony has brought its collaborative mobile phone venture with Ericsson to it's knees with decisions of mind blowing ineptitude.
The sooner Sony buggers off and concentrates on its core business of flogging TV's and games consoles the better IMO.
Dogmann actually speaks a lot of sense in this debate, and (unusual for him) he aint rubbishing other peoples opinions out of hand!!

Actually, if you read my profile you'll see I'm a full time IT student and my lecturers are impressed with my knowledge of the Telecommunications industry especially as it relates to NZ. I'm considering starting my own Blog on the imminent changes to the Mobile industry in NZ.

@MWEB
If Dogmann's posts deteriorate any further, we'll need a translator. It's obvious that the critics of SE and Sony see their opinions as being evidence enough while those backing up SE and Sony are quite happy to provide references and discuss matters based on facts.

As someone required to write reports using APA referencing for my assignments it's clear to me whose arguments are credible.

Ah their it says full time IT student.
What you are trying to become or what you have on paper means nothing.
I'm a man of facts, and what i've predicted has always come true (sadly)
I'm sure many people here have a better understand about telecom then most people who study it, or are on top of the company's.
