If someone here says he is working for SE why don't you all just do the only thing you can do: take his word for it and find out later if his information was useful or not. Now anyone who identiefies themselves as SE-related is bullied away. If they are fakes, ok, but no one knows hom many SE employees that we really ready to let some information go you have scared off. Putting him into tests like above in this thread is reallty only pathetic. And then you want SE people to read Esato and give it credit for being the monitor of what the market thinks and wants? Please.
Second why would an SE employee know everything about all phones, SW/FW upgrades and version numbers, long-term model strategy, etc. The guy clearly stated that he was working in some kind of customer relationship service like a call-center. Why would you expect people from call-centers to know much more than the public should? They are 'fed' on a need-to-know basis.
I think he got clearance from his supervisor to give it a try on Esato because they were fed up with the calls they got based on misunderstood information from Esato or just plain wrong information (that's what he said and it sounds credible). He quickly pulled back after his mailbox got flooded and he was more answering geek-questions rather than setting a few things straight on this site. So the motive to be here was gone. So did he then.
He might have succeeded in his mission if he had his strategy better worked out but then he would have to be given the task full time and that won't be worth it.
Now that might be an indication on hpw much of the site here is read and how Esato is looked at from SE's point. Too much garbage to weed through to find a couple of useful clues.

I can't help but wonder just how many people really phone their

customer help desk with the following words: 'I read on esato that...'
Personally I don't think it would be quite that many
But I do agree on the general 'bullying attitude' that seems to be the one directed to any and all members who actually have something to say. More than one true asset (think bengal boy) has been scared away from this site for good.
Having that said......... I do not truly believe upper

management condones individual employees to take a stand on esato. And I do worry for possible consequences for any

employee that chooses to do so anyway.

ben@sonyericsson
Ben's info on the P910 has been very consistent with the latest info that has only been avilable for a few days from a number of sources. Ben's info was from 20 Aug. Sounds like Ben has got SE links.

Once again we see the all to prevailent attitudes of cynicism and mob rule rear their heads on Esato. The poor chap is hounded on all sides by members throwing questions at him and accussing him of lying, whatever happened to giving someone the benefit of the doubt? I would also like to agree with the comment, made above, that the chap in question is unlikely to know the answer to every question put at him. Yet I see questions in this thread on a whole range of subjects and of course the chap's inability to answer them must mean that he isn't who he says he is!
I would have thought that any SE employees who have been reading the forums here at Esato and were perhaps thinking of participating must now be put off entirely, if they have seen this thread. At the very least I would seriously doubt that they would advertise the fact that they are SE employees for fear of being labelled a liar and being mocked.
If this chap really is an employee of SE then I hate to think of the wealth of information that we have now lost because some members feel it their 'civic duty' to harass him, whilst other members come running with their pitchforks and torches to join in! How are this 'mob' ever to be satisfied that someone genuinely is an employee of SE? Perhaps they would like to see a picture of the member in question standing with the CEO; or perhaps they would like a signed letter from the CEO stating that the chap is in fact working for him.
Yet another example of how we ruin things for ourselves, perhaps next time we can be more trusting and actually reap some of the rewards that that entails.

I have provided a link to a thread, below, which appears to confirm what
ben@sonyericsson said about the K700 was correct.
