Ok. I started my last sync with no problem. The addressbook completed the sync in two minutes. It has now been five hours and the sync process is still going. ical is still syncing. That just isn't right, is it?

Apple needs to release an update for iSync.

The sync took seven hours. Addressbook was fine, now I can't even open the Calander on my p910i. Tried to delete the whole Calander, but it will not let me due to lack of memory. may have to reset the device. Any suggestions??

Sounds like you've got a busy schedule/large calendar (lots of notes? many calendars?).

Cant comment as to what to do with your p910, since i've got an early p800. I did my first master reset the other day (18month after purchase) so don't know best course of action for the phone. I'd have a search for tips on that.

The only thing i can think of if you try to re-sync is to try and limit the number of appointments. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25595
this article at apple states theres a 2MB limit to calendars at one time and 500kb for contacts. and suggests a work around by splitting cals and contacts and sync'n one at a time.

iSync has also hung on me before thou like you described, but a quick re-pairing and it worked again but didnt mess with my calendar thou. well. doubt this helped, but keep on trying and good luck.

Edit: http://discussions.info.apple[....]14@921.yvVfabPCJBF.0@.689a623e try this thread in apple's iSync discussion forum. it's not just you...

This is hopeless. I'm wasting hours of time trying to get this phone to sync. My last sync turns out only to be partial in my addressbook. I've had to do a master reset due to the misfunction of the diary in the p910i. What a pain in the arse. It is clear now that the p910i is not a device that can be used with iSync. I suppose we are at the mercy of the next iSync update. But still, wasn't it nice seeing Jobs being chummy with Son's CEO. Bet neither of them has a p910i.

I read the apple article. The limitations on file sizes is for an early iSync and the p800. I think things have moved on since then. Sadly, the first sync I did with my p910i transferred all my 1007 contacts, notes and photos perfectly. Now I have error messages claiming that I have run out of memory.

I'm reverting back to my original settings and attempting one more sync after a master reset. Starting to wish I'd held out for the Treo650.

Try synching without pictures (edit /library/applecation support/syncservice/501/symbiandefaults.plist or something like that.)

I've now got my addressbook in sync. Pictures included. The fix I tried was for the p900. I think the p900 profile has size limitations for the addressbook file size. I'm going to keep the calender sync off for now. More trouble than it is worth.
One other thing though. I see in the iSync log that the "Backup Conduit" is trying to sync "Palm Catagories". Is this part of the problem?
