I understand what you're saying but since when has releasing "handset after handset" meant a better company?

If the handsets are winning awards then isnt' that testament to a company's success.

SE has created a niche in the high-end of the market. No other company can compete with SE for high-end models. Samsung are fast on Nokias heels. Nokia must be absolutely crapping themselves.

Oh and c'mon guys, less of the vitriol. Surely you can do better than trading insults?

i think your quite correct when you say that se is carving a nice niche market out, my only worry for se is that they make such low profit margins in this sector avg margin for se = 8% were nokia are making 18% and others around this figure.
if your carving out a niche you should be able to make a decent margin.
coming back to topic it is really a silly argument and trading insults is quite pointless, ive said it many times before you should buy the phone that suits your needs and budget. yes i bought a 6600 and i love it as it suits my needs and budget perfectly, i aint into who made the phone and wont be when i get a new one in june. again i will buy the one that suits both my needs and budget, if thats se then its se if its nokia moto or whoever then they get me cash

@ guy who started this thread

Both SE and Nokia each have their own advantages/disadvantages over another. Everyone who used both brands know that.

BUT...the fact that you "bad mouthed" SE phones in a SE forum proves that YOU are a dumb f**k. Go to a Nokia forum and express your stupid pointless opinions. Trying to compared that ugly 6600 with K700i.. wtf??
Of course we're biased on SE phones, so what???

@slattery69

Just picking up on the point you made about margin, and only 8% compared with nokia's 18% which is quite a considerable amount.

IMHO although essential that you achieve a good margin, I can't imagine both companies operating cost being the same and as such the margin doesn't neccesarily mean aren't making good profits.

You only have to look at the quality of phones to see that if margin was that important to them and assuming their manufacturing processes are efficient,to increase margin they would have to reduce the spec/quality of fittings etc of the phones they are promoting as a quality item

I think it's fair to say that have the edge in this area. The image gained here makes for increased sales, yeh of course they would like a better margin , who wouldn't ? but at what cost ? Reduced sales due to even more expensive product ?

Undoubtably are working to improve this margin but at the same time making a healthy profit due to better sales through a pretty solid image gained from a quality product means they don't have to maybe worry so much about the margin within this particular sector. The image gained will also help promote healthy sales within the mass market sector.

I think debating about brands and models flaws and advantages are essentially healthy and frankly i find them educational and at the same time amusing. I just hope the debates don't go down to a level of pathetic and childish name-calling and personal insults -- it just sounds stupid and annoying.

One thing that I believe is really flattering to all K700 users is the fact that it has many times been compared and weighed against other phones that belong to different classes -- IMO this only shows that K700i has features that appeals to a wide range of users.

I won't be surprised if someday I'll see a thread entitled "N9500 or K700i... I'm confused, please help"

@ Blackspot. I agree.

The fact that the K700 is being compared to a phone which is supposed to be a smartphone says it all.

My mate had a 6600 on 3 and he hated the sight of it after only a few weeks. It just looks daft and I wouldn't degrade my coat pocket with one.

As for upgrades what is wrong with upgrading with firmware? People have the computer's operating systems upgraded all the time!! It doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong, it just means SE are constantly working to improve on what they are doing. Which is cool.
