sounds like desperation to me. r u expecting everyone here to toe the line and always give praises "SE is the best", "SE is the best" without questions just like what hordes of diehard followers did during the communist cultural revolution.

Aaarrrrrgggghhhh!
Give it up will you - it seems pretty obvious everyone is sick to death of the amusement that you seem to derive from going over the same tired old ground on a

forum.
Can't you just leave it alone - it's boring now....

@Scotsboy. You can't possible have been referring to me
My word!!!
As if this hasn't been dragged around enough already.
What do we have to do? Publish an in-depth economic report on sales distribution of SE handsets with demographic breakdown

.
SE is competing in Western Europe where they are an established brand and are currently number 3, having come from nothing just 3 short years ago. (Japan ditto! ).
How on earth can you expect a young company like, SE to swipe the number 1,2,3 crown in global handset sales - when SE have few low end handsets to compete with in the African and Asian markets?
They have only just started to campaign in markets where other manufacurers are already very well established!!! These include the huge markets of India, China and also SE Asia, where Koreans LG and Samsung hold the titles.
Does that not make sense?
Alternatively, SE could have done things the other way around. They could have first released tens of low quality, sparcely featured handsets in the emerging markets of Africa etc and made a name for themselves providing such models. Is that the right way to do things? Really?
Like phone for like phone most SE handsets are of better all round quality. That is the general consensus of the industry. That is how SE has managed to compete in W. Europe and Japan. That is how most analysts agree SE has carved out its own niche, by providing high quality, high specification handsets. This is current thinking. Not a past mantra SE is clinging on to!!
High-end specs and higher quality doesn't necessarily mean high sales. There are plenty of obvious analogies out there to choose from,but I am not going to name them as some people love to pick, pick, pick just for the goddamn sake of it.
@Ganguluy.
There are other manufacturers below SE, Such as Sharp (Sharp 902?)and NEC (N900i) who don't make the most but who still make excellent handsets.

Duh. This is an SE forum after all if you have not noticed. A forum for people liking SE. What's wrog with that ? Why should anybody here need to explain their reason for liking SE to you ? In what way is your opinion more worth than anybody elses ? I have failed to see your knowledge being better than anybody elses.
If you think we are desperate. Then what are you who seem to be married to S60 ?
The question is not what we are doing here. But rather what you are doing here. What do you try to achieve ? You prefer S60, fine. Go here and share your thoughts with people that actually may care.

@Arne Anka
btw: my previous post on "desperation" is
NOT directed to everyone. it is only for that individual who likes to make baseless character attack.
Let me ask you. Is this not a thread titled "Sony Ericsson still too far behind the rest!"? Are we not debating the merit of this statement? In a discussion, u must expect opposing view or is it that you so naive to think otherwise. And did I bring up any thing about s60 in this thread?
Pls go and read all my posts in this thread (and other threads) and tell me in which one did I try to stop you from loving SE. If you cannot take constructive criticisims, then all I can jokingly tell you is not to participate in any forum because you r thin-skinned.
Is it always the norm here that some "SE lovers" like tell you to go somewhere else when they don't like your post? Is this "esato" or is this "esato-only se lovers enter"?

@mib, please don't go
I agree with you; I can take your criticism. I Don't agree for a second with what you are saying, but will fight to the death your right to say it
Since we think SE make the best phones on the market, from our point of view they are not too far behind the rest at all, but in front!
To be fair, we don't want them to get too far behind in the market because we love our SE's and don't want them to become exclusive like B & O. If they can maintain a position of 6 - 4 they will be able to maintain the high quality without being priced out of the everyday market.
That's my honest opinion, given all that everyone (pro's and cons) has said in this and other similar threads lately
