I confirm scroitoru's comment.

One more thing (again for future consideration):

I use Tracker, which re-assigns buttons to my purposes, allowing the camera and web buttons to do different things according to whether they are pressed once or held down.

With the Hot Key in bigben set to "Internet", it takes over control of the internet key completely.

Is there any way to have bigben react to either single-press, or hold-down, leaving the other function available to apps such as tracker?

Alternatively, I can get tracker to run bigben on a shortcut key, but this opens the bigben app, rather than the screensaver. Could there be a (very small) app that could be installed as an optional extra that, when run, would activate the screensaver? This would allow me to keep all my press/hold combinations active.

Thanks

This requires a "day" to be defined as (say) 4:00am until 3:59am (the following day). This looks like a valid demand, just we don't yet know how to organize it into a simple and manageable user interface which is also flexible enough to satisfy everyone, plus possible to program Concrete suggestions are welcome. Your other suggestions are considered as well.

Hmmm, I have been thinking of ways to do this. The most simple change is just to make the program treat 'Monday' as 4am Mon - 3:59am Tue (and so on), and have a brief line on the settings screen to indicate this (say, "Day starts at 4am").

Alternatively, you could maximise the flexibility as follows (but this requires a much bigger change to the programming):
Have a scrollable list box with Add/Remove buttons. Any number of ON/OFF times could be added to this list. The list would automatically sort itself (Mon-Sun) when a time is added.
Clicking on "Add" would bring up options for Day, Time, and ON/OFF. The Day would be a dropdown list of Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri, All Days, Weekdays, Weekends. Selecting one of the latter options would add multiple items to the list.
I have made some screenshots to show what I mean:

Perhaps there should be an Edit button there too, to change an existing entry.

Personally, I like this second method, as it would suit everyone, and is quite easy to understand. Although it requires more work on your part!

- Autolock disabled when connected to PC

This new feature is just fine with me, (I don't use autolock anyway) but it also causes the bigben screensaver to exit when placed in the docking station. I don't want this to happen, as I like to keep the big clock/reminders visible when it is on my desk. I can turn it back on again using the Hot key, but this is a bit of a pain. Could you prevent a currently-running bigben from exiting when connected to PC, or add this behaviour as an option in the settings?

Thanks

The above second solution is impressive indeed. What app is shown on the images? Although truly nice solution, it's somewhat overwhelming for BigBen's purposes, and we are not sure if the majority of users would really like/need it (I'm sure you would ).

Optional lock-off when PC is connected is surely possible, noted.

Well that's the ultimate flexible approach, which could cater for everyone's needs. However, as long as it's possible to extend "on" time to 2am at night, any solution is fine with me. Hopefully other users will respond with what they prefer.... speak up you lot!

Actually, I nicked the screenshots from your own Bootman app images on My-Symbian (just to get the basic icons & boxes) and made all the changes in paint by myself!

What I would find very useful is the option to have no delay at all to lock the device upon closing the flip (it does this only if the device was unlocked by opening the flip). Currently, the minimum delay is 15 seconds and I find myself closing the flip and waiting for BigBen to kick in before I put my phone in my pocket. That'd be a wonderful enhancement.

Hi Lisa,

Don't know if you have found this bug, or it's just my phone, but if you do this:

Bring up Big Ben
....goto Preferences, Lock , Unlock
....unset the 'Flip open unlocks' option
....close the flip, and let Big Ben kick in
....then open the flip, Big Ben is there (but not locked)
....press the Lock button

It crashes with the error 'Reason code AppUi - Reason number 631'.

If you restart Big Ben, and press Lock, it works fine, but close the flip, open it and press Lock, it crashes.

I realise this may not be a normal sequence of events, and I can't even recall why I did it, but thought you should know.

I still of course think it's the best app ever
Cheers.
