u should flash the fone with the last fw from time to time, that would also increase a bit the batt performance

@Boba- funny how I've been doing that with my SE phones like the t610, k700i and p910i and neglected the Ericsson ones. Thanks, will do.

@Boba and others: A phone's firmware can't get compared to a computer's operating system. Wherefrom do you have the information that reflashing a firmware time by time would be any kind of optimization? The firmware doesn't change after once being flashed and it doesn't make a difference if it works for 1 or 3 years. It can't get broken or worn out by usage and there is really no technical nor physical need to flash the same firmware for a second time.
Another aspect is that any kind of flashing is somehow risky. You'll never know if any hidden hardware defect will leave the phone in an non-working state after flashing. That's untypical? I've had about 10 phones now that were dead after flashing and the only chance to revive them was to exchange the flash chip.
So please don't advice others to flash their phones if there is no good reason for doing it. Just imagine someone having a damaged phone after following your advice.
Our phones are old and usually no one can say what happened to the phone before he's got it. In most cases they already have the latest firmware flashed since there are no new updates to expect anymore. If you want to update a phone with an old firmware, if you need a different language or if you need to unlock a phone you have a good reason for touching the firmware. But never forget that something can get wrong.

@rosewhite- thanks for the info. By the way, all my Ericsson and Sony Ericsson phones were bought brand new and I'm the only person that's ever used them with one exception being the gh688 that was also used by my mother. What you're saying is there's no need to flash my R320s?
