Cable is costly and is not preferred atleast me not.
Go for IR adaptor that is much cheaper and best option if u want to connect to Internet.I think cable works only one way.Ir is faster and cheaper than cable.Best option for u is IR .

the most important thing,first check the signal strengts.If its less then 4 bars i won't suggest u to go for it.
then check with ur service provider that it provides GPRS and if yes get it activated.
The charge for Airtel is Rs.1000/M(Unlimited,Speed 3-4 KB/s also depends upon ur signal strength) and Hutch and BPL r providing at lesser.Then buy an IR adaptor.I bought it for Rs.800,u can get it from any software/Hardware shop that sells all kind of computer accessories.U can go for USB-IR also it is faster but costly.
Once u have the GPRS activated and IR installed(If u use Win 98,2000,XP)The IR will automatically get installed but u'll have to uninstall the IR modem and reinstall it using the modem script(Driver )thet u can get from SE site.also Install the PC suite then make a connection by clicking sonyericsson star icon.
u'll have to download two thiings(Modem script,PC suite)
any further questions or problem just ask without hesitation.

IF u r talking of 13sec trick,First remove the cover Keep the battery in Switch on ur phone,do a masterreset and after 12.5 sec release the battery.Don't forget to backup ur games n data.
regarding FW.check out the nearest SE service center.The latest FW for T310 is R3B003

The answer is no.
It will not work, because the T610 software has no support for the add on camera. Reason is of course the built in cam.
