@ericsson_man:
Your pink T65 really looks great. Can it be that the cover is painted or is it the color of the plastic itself? Maybe you can see it underneath the screw heads of the battery cover or inside the battery cover. What leads me to think that it's painted is the missing print on the back between the screws aswell as it seems that the edges of the Ericsson logo on top of the back look a little smoother. Do you know anything about the history of this phone?

About reflashing:
The following cases are good reasons for flashing a phone:
1) There is a newer fw available and the old one has bugs, less features or shows up other disadvantages
2) The fw got corrupted due to
- shortings on the board (for example water damage)
- strong magnetical fields
- unprofessional touching of the fw (for example unlocking)
- defective flash chip

All the reasons of point #2 lead to sudden problems. In many cases the phone just doesn't work anymore, in other cases the fw hangs reproducable at special points. If there is no hardware problem flashing will be the right solution. Otherwise it can end up in a dead phone. So if you decide to flash the phone you should find out at first what lead to the fw problems. If it might be water damage or if the phone fell to the floor ask yourself if you can accept the fw problems because flashing can be risky.

However, flashing without a good reason doesn't make any sense. The only part of the flash memory that changes due to normal usage is the user data area. If you want to set your phone to original condition all you have to do is a master reset.

to be honest master reset didnt solved my problem once. actually next to the browser bug had no other one, but that was really annoying.

Maybe something went wrong with the previous flashing. This can happen because EMMA only gets a response from the phone's cpu that it received all data but not if they have been written properly to the flash chip.

The writeability of the flash chip can differ due to bad soldererings, liquid damage or other influences so it is possible that all bits of a fw have been written but some of them are in a bad or unreadable state.

I haven't had the luck to work with EMMA but as far as I know it should be possible to check a flash chip's content right after flashing. If they had the chance to check if the flash process was completely successfull they should have been able to detect the problem right after flashing.

However, once the phone is working properly, just leave it. There are two ways to flash a phone and you'll never know which way they flashed your phone. They may either have flashed it with low voltage (5V) or with a higher voltage of 9-12V. High voltage flashing will be chosen if the phone is a "problematic one" and if low voltage flashing leads to errors. The disadvantage is that hv flashing can only be done several times since it burns out the flash chip. I dont' know how many hv flashing processes a chip resists (tiger should know it) but I think it was a very low number between 10 and 20 times.

Don't worry about that, Boba. The firmware will probably even survive the GSM network. As I wrote before it needs something like a strong magnetical field or liquide damage to kill a phone's firmware. As long as nothing bad like this happens to the phone it will work.

I think most of our phones will die someday due to dried out capacitors and similar problems. electronical components like capacitors only have a limited lifetime. Maybe some collector already made the experience that a phone he left for a long time in the display suddenly just don't work anymore. This is somehow due to an aging process.

But this is nothing to be afraid of. In maybe 10 years there might be no GSM network anymore due to new and better technologies and all our phones won't work anymore. Time changes and things changes but our phones will still be nice collector's items
